I’m a Wilder fan, however I have had enough of the utter tripe that we are serving up week after week.

I think Philips was and will prove to be, a decent signing but BBD, Choudary, Rothwell, RND, Shackleton, Ayew, Doherty…. WTAF do any of them offer in terms of postivity, creativity, energy? (That’s a rhetorical question - I know the answer is fuck all)

Wilder is far too negative, tries to be far too safe and as a result we create next to fuck all. We rarely look like scoring, and once we concede, we all know we are going to lose.

I don’t think he will resign or be sacked any time soon but he’s in danger of cancelling out the exceptional work he did first time round.

I get that we had to cut costs, but we could still have got a blend experience with youth and skill surely??

Rob Edwards would be my choice. But even the Dog Shagger is looking appealing.

We’ve got no real identity, the squad looks unbalanced and tactically predictable, and it feels like he’s either losing the dressing room or already has.


His messaging is all over the place too. One minute he trusts the players, the next he doesn’t. Then there’s the constant moaning, sarcasm and snapping at reporters. It honestly reminds me of that second Premier League season same vibes, same defensiveness.


I can understand why the board wanted to move on from Wilder. Their mistake was not properly vetting and interviewing the replacement.


For me, we need a proper sporting director and a dynamic, tactically flexible head coach, with recruitment that looks beyond the same familiar markets. Coventry are a good example of a club with a clearer model.


Steve Cooper is a decent shout, but to me he feels more like a short-term fix than the bigger change we actually need.

We can’t even get close to 50% possession against a team that’s not much better at keeping the ball than us.

I am a Wilder fan but my patience is wearing very thin.
At the end of last season we were promised that there would be an improvement in fitness and I can't say I've seen much evidence of that. Already we've been told we just have to get to the international break and then we regroup and go again. What happens if not much changes after the international break? Will we then be told that we just have to get to the January transfer window? Then what happens after we likely bring in more sub standard recruits?
Alarm bells were ringing for me after he said he trusted this squad and then one game later said he didn't trust parts of it.
The way he huffed off down the tunnel at Fleetwood also left a sour taste.
The problem now is that our owners can't be trusted to appoint a decent replacement if Wilder goes. I really don't know what the answer is at the moment.

No chance he’s walking away from another payout. You would’ve thought the owners would’ve learnt from the first time they gave him a contract extension and sacked him, but the idiots did it again.

I think our owners need to start phoning these guys sounding them out and crossing off the list of who wants to come and doesnt then look at employing one of these.

I would work my way down the list as it reads for most wanted and preference.

Mckenna is a touch ambitious and out of our reach more than likely but he would be the first I call just to make sure is answer is no, as if there is a chance we could land him then its game on and if not we move down the list.

I agree, absolutely. But I’m not sure his ego will allow him to. I’ve said elsewhere that it reminds me of a fighter coming back for one fight too many, and it’s sad to see. He’ll always have the legacy of the four golden years, but he’s not going to recapture that and he’s tarnishing the legacy more and more the longer it goes on. You would hope that people close to him would be having a word, but I can’t see the sycophants he’s surrounded himself with doing that, it’s not in their interests.

This incantation of CW looks broken and lost. The first CW spell was innovative that thrived in a paradigm shift in how to play football, he took that energy from L1 to 9th in the EPL.
Wilder's 2nd time around was boring to watch but effective until the wheels fell off he where he started getting angry culminating in an embarrassing clash with Plymouth fans as we blew automatic promotion within a single week.
This version of Wilder is just an empty shell of what was once brilliant.
The tragic part of this is if he hadn't thrown his toys out of the pram in our 2nd EPL season, he wouldn't have been the 2nd and 3rd versions that have gradually lost him a lot of credibility with the fans. We probably would have been relegated that season but we weren't getting smashed every week, the squad was talented and was just missing a couple of additions. It was very repairable and the fans would have stuck with him if he would have stuck at it.
For me it's over, once a Blade always a Blade and you will always be revered for the journey to 9th in the EPL, it will always be fondly remembered. Don't let that legacy be totally ruined by taking us back to where you started from.

Harris is certainly a good fit at Cambridge. He started out at Cambridge city as a player I believe before joining Millwall as a striker. He's on his second stint at Cambridge as manager and also went back to Millwall in a fire fighting capacity. I used to watch cufc in the 80s and early 90s as I grew up there so I keep an eye on them. He's doing a good job for them.
