As with many of the previous games this season, this afternoon was no different:

We create fuck all
We restrict opposition teams to fuck all

Much like last season, we rely on someone doing something good to score goals rather than having a footballing identity and patterns of play… except we don’t have Gus Hamer anymore so we do fuck all.

There’s fuck all to bring off the bench to make a difference.

It’s just a bit steaming pile of fuck all really.

We played crap when we got to 92 points but a lot of fans said results were more important than performances. Last season we put in the same turgid performances and the luck ran out and the results suffered as a result. This season we have neither.

The way you play is more important than the outcome as inevitably one leads into the other. Play well you win. Play crap and scrappy and you might spawn a win here and there but it won't last. One breeds confidence. The other doesn't.

The fans who consistently celebrated every win when we played crap and justified the poor performances have no right to moan, as this is what happens when you support and defend mediocrity.

Because they play in fear. They have a manager who operates out of fear, a style of play that’s routed in fear and not taking risks, and tactics that are all based on not making mistakes.

What you see on match day is a replication of the work on training ground, the environment and the culture.

But even in the 92 point.. there wasnt many games we had 30% possession or tha passing stats.. we didnt hoof it up and had a clear pattern of slow build up. We was comfortable out of possession and had a good defence.

As u say this one we have nothing at all, its a continuation of last season, apart from the 5 game run purple patch with the 3 goal games.

Possession is embarrassingly impossible

I think one reason for it is the players are afraid to carry the ball, or encouraged not to

It looks like they're handicapped to 1 or 2 touches every time and it leads to hot potato stuff

Exactly this, some have been saying it for years. Instead of looking at the red flags we’ve stuck with the same shit because hes a blade and ‘gets the club’, wasted all our parachute advantage, assembled a team of players with little value and limited ability whilst Wilder has rotten the club out with negative and pathetic football.

We were always heading in this direction under him but now we have lost all our advantage and have to make the change at possibly the worst time. A new manager has a challenge x10 of what it would’ve been a couple of years ago.

The signs are all there. I've been a Blade for more than fifty years now and it's plain to see. We are on a downward spiral. I 've seen it a few times before.
A succession of owners unwilling to invest. Best players sold. Poor replacement s brought in. Managers unable to get a song out of the squad. And as much as it pains me to say it Wilder is not doing that at the moment.
This season is going to be about survival. If we get docked 12 points or even less it will be a monumental task to stay up. Unless we can turn results round after the break we are in trouble. Big trouble.

Just arrived home! My question to myself is - can I be bothered to continue making the effort to go and watch live football. The answer will probably end up 'yes', but I am getting heartily fed up with issues surrounding attending matches.
I've attended 3 live games this week Harrogate Town v Fylde (1-2), Fleetwood v SU (1-0) and Stoke v SU (2-1).
Each one a defeat for the team I was supporting - but I'm not really bothered about that (too much). The most enjoyable was the Hg game and mainly because of the honesty of the players and interesting conversation with an Hg fan who I got talking to.
Wednesday at Fleetwood was a dire performance, on top of that being surrounded by angry fans at the end, but slightly mellowed by meeting up with a few people I only see at away games.
Today was a very scrappy affair - both teams throwing themselves to the ground (especially in the first half). Conned the ref into a few bookings. Had a decent young chap next to me - but 2nd half the more vocal ones moved over into our section so they could be closer to the Stoke fans. It was all fairly moronic.
Not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of it anymore
