We play crap in a league cup match. It's not as if losing to lower league opponents in a cup is anything new for most if not all of the managers we've had in my lifetime.

I can't seriously believe people want Wilder out based on how we've done this season. Sacking him would be madness. The current team is very average. No Seriki, no One neither which massively doesn't help. The lack of budget, selling all of our attacking quality. Then the potential points deduction.

It's the equivalent of making a cake with dog poo and expecting it to taste like a beautiful wedding cake and then blaming the chef.

So wish Wilder out of you want. Because I promise you we'll be relegated if we do. This season is a stay up season, maybe mid table at best.
Are you blind? He will get us relegated.

This season has got fuck all going for it and can’t end soon enough, but I did hope for a bit of a run in a cup to maybe give us something to get excited about.

Ideal draw to play a League Two team, but we can’t even beat a team two divisions below us. Fucking pathetic!

I think his reaction to the away fans and the away fans reaction tells a different story.

I think we’re due for the mother of all throwing players under the bus tonight.

“Not a Sheffield United performance”

“You’ll have to ask the players”

“Enough quality on the pitch to win”

But none of it will be his fault. Formations, or tactics by the look of it, don’t win games of football apparently

His mates won’t have be interested in their usual freebies slumming it in Fleetwood. Losing the true travelling fans is a big one.

Wilder has usually had the backing of the away support win lose or draw regardless.

That's the first time the away fans have turned on him. Probably didn't expect the coward to just run off down the tunnel.

The squad is bad in lots of ways but it’s nowhere near as bad as these performances. Nowhere near.

I’m not Wilder out but I’m wavering.

Spot on. It's really annoying me how people are talking like we have the lowest budget in the league and have one of the worst squads in the league. We are 100% underperforming

Losing in the cup is nothing new, I agree. But being outplayed for 75 minutes of a cup game by a league 2 team is definitely something new. The reaction of the travelling fans tells you everything you need to know. A simple boo and walk out for a long journey home normally suffices. Why are you defending a man who once again after a loss is the first down the tunnel? 0 accountability can’t be his fault could it. He can’t for a second think he owes the fans an apology.

last season we were poor when he returned in the prem we were poor now magically it’s cause he didn’t trust the group? Give me a break.

We’ve got a top ten budget, top half at worse. The fact that wilder has once again squandered it on dross needs to be called out.

The 92 point season was like watching paint dry. Same for last season. He has no style of play and is reluctant to change. The little quality we had left, has now gone. The Wilder love affair was over when we stopped the overlapping centre halves with the overloads. It hasn’t been the same since. Sadly, a crate of beer from the off licence won’t fix this one.

A good part of the reason why we are in this situation is because he’s continually spent MILLIONS on absolute dross that he’s got no idea how to actually put into a functioning football team.

The absolutely abysmal recruitment over recent seasons is going to haunt us for years to come. Signing has been shit on multiple year contracts while other teams sign players with potential to develop and grow in value. We may well need a relegation and re-set to finally break the mould. It might actually be more entertaining than watching slow, one dimensional football with absolutely zero creativity.

We’ve been outplayed in most games this season and we are very fortunate to have 9 points.

At least wait until we stop getting results in the league that will keep us mid table

Tonight was a disgrace, the squad is a disgrace

But the league cup is irrelevant as has been proven in basically every season Wilder's had here

The cups are irrelevant when we’re pushing for promotion and the sole focus has to be on the league.

This season there is no reason why we can’t finish midtable and have a decent cup run.

Clueless post. Typical of some of our deluded fanbase. You seriously saying that there is no one else out there who could do a better job? Nobody in the whole of football. Anybody who defends Wilder after this knows absolutely nothing about football.

Im not fully in wilder out camp. Ive not been a wilder fan club like some but hes had a lot of credit in the bank, i was never wilder out until now. But for me hes got worse and taking us full circle.

He needs to go, hes devoid of tactics, game plan, subs. Fresh ideas and too stubborn & also 44 fucking 2.

Weve had so many opportunities to reshuffle behind the scenes and never taken them. We need a hard reset in clearing out all things wilder including all his best mates job for the lads.

We need employ people in charge of each department so the manager isn't over stretched and a dof so (hopefully new) ceo can concentrate on actual day to day business side of things and revenue.

Big clear out of wilders bum boy players pashunnnn just get the club mentality.

To be honest there is always risk . Making an argument to keep Wilder after the farce of the previous recruitment is ridiculous. What next don’t drive cos there’s crashes ?? Show some bollocks and change it

Everyone always says "oh well if we had better owners who backed him, we'd be fine

Remember when PA backed him? That went well.

I've been keeping my powder dry on this poll. Not entirely sure why given some comments I've made on the forum over the last 12ish months about Wilder. Regardless, that display tonight is absolutely enough to say that he definitely needs to not be manager of our club anymore.

We've been outfought, which might be expected when we're playing a team from 2 leagues below. Lesser quality needs an increased work rate to narrow the technical deficit. But we looked technically worse than them as well. We often struggled to keep the ball, and even when we did it was just along the back 4, and completely without threat.

We only showed even a modicum of desire in the last 15 minutes, when we had no choice but to be more aggressive in how we attacked. But much of it was still in a "hit-and-hope" fashion; lacking any proper direction from the bench, more just a case of "chuck some forwards on and see if they can make summat happen".

I think Donovan is the only one who comes out with any credit, and he's not even our fucking player. Nobody else on that pitch tonight did much of value - the only decent thing was the shot from Peck that their keeper made a great save from.

Their winner might have been an OG, but Fleetwood could easily have won by more. Had one ruled out (rightfully) for offside, hit the post twice, had a lot of bright moments in our third of the pitch. What impressed me most was the eagerness to press from their forward players. We simply don't get anything like that from anyone in our team, but they managed to force us into giving the ball away numerous times.

I think the players care - the way Cooper was screaming at his defence was an example of that. But I do not see anything on this team now that suggests to me that the manager cares. And that is completely unforgivable.

So sorry Chris, but it has to be time to go. I don't care how good you've been for us in the past - what's happening now us simply unacceptable.

So who wants to get this started again?

Tonight alone, even without everything else, would be enough for me.

You have a stellar performance playing 5-3-2 Sunday, only to revert back to a 4-4-2 that hasn't worked all season, and you reap the rewards

Who's he gonna blame this time? Because it's never on him.
It’s a very fair point.

Play well in a newish system. Keep it simple. Surely against more low key opposition you build on that system even under some degree of rotation showing that there is at least a plan in place.

Reverting back to a system that has failed us since inception more or less, perhaps Blackburn in the cup as an exception, just defies logic.

He picked the team that knocked Blackburn out but with Arblaster where Marsh played, Tanganga for Baptiste an Cooper for Davies, all arguably upgrades.

But this wasn’t the direction we were now headed. We’d had encouraging signs in the most recent match so reverting to the Blackburn formation meant a change up on formation from the weekend and radical personnel changes.

It was a daft way to approach the match. You want continuity from the last match, not from a game one month back.

That being said, the players should hang their heads too, losing to Fleetwood when they’re a Div 4 team.

Even Sélles had the balls to front up after a shite performance

Jesus… what game have we actually deserved a point from this season? What’s it going to take to realise in wilders latest tenures anything positive has come from moments of brilliance from gifted footballs and nothing to do with wilders tactical genius.
Wolves to answer your question but yes he’s certainly heading towards the exit in my view.

That was absolutely shameful it is time for Wilder to go thanks for the memories but that is the final straw.

4 Shots on target against a league 2 team absolutely criminal

Wilder needs to go before it turns even more toxic.
Wilder said this was a game against tough opposition in his presser. He does this every week these days, it's like he's getting his excuses in early and it's a far cry from his first term at the club.

Problem with this inferior version of Wilder we have now is he actually fears teams, all teams. Not just Liverpool away but now Fleetwood away. Carry on it will be Altrincham away before we know it.

Wilder 1:0 was fearless. Example down to 10 men in the first half against Brentford in the promotion year. Late in the game he puts a 2nd striker on even though we are under the cosh, that striker gets us a 2nd goal and we win the game. It was brave, ambitious and led to our promotion.

Wilder 2:0 was not as brave but he got us into a habit of winning ugly until we got found out by Burnley and Leeds before slipping away.

Wilder 3:0 is out of ideas, always on the defensive when interviewed and he cuts a hapless figure IMO. In his defence the owners have fooked him over this summer, but that doesn't excuse why he can't become Wilder 1:0 again.

Wilder loves the club no doubt, but after all that has happened since Wilder 1:0 and the glory days can you ever get that spark back? Can you really resurrect a marriage after all the trauma and drama that has happened between Wilder and the owners (present and past)?

I don't believe it can.
