How insane would you have to be to reject over 5m for Cannon when you could just use Marsh as his replacement in a worst case scenario?
Couple of things wrong in that post
We never received a £5 million bid for Cannon and Marsh is a long way from being able to play in the Championship
Otherwise spot on

Is Alan Nixon wrong then? Or is it the case that Stoke would have gone to 5m+ but just didn't 'officially' bid?

Cannon isn't ready for the championship either. Hence Marsh wouldn't have been an unsuitable replacement

He scored in league 2, which is his current level from what I have seen when he plays. He is physically weak, but whether that is due to how he is built, and/or sheff u's obvious failings in developing players physicality and fitness, remains to be seen. Judging by our first team's abysmal fitness and conditioning, I'm assuming his physical development has been affected by his time with us.

Probably the most gifted footballer ive ever seen.come through our academy
Needs to develop physically and play minutes
But our conditioning and fitness team dont seem interested in making our players more powerful athletes

If they were doing it properly (and I don't know) they'd pay close attention to every single player at the club and give them very specific plans to physically optimise. Especially the younger players and potential assets

A good case in point is arblaster
He has come back from his injury and looks like he has lost a lot of muscle on what was already a pretty skinny physique for a pro footballer
I expect something to have been done about this pre season but can see no sign of it
Peck also is too skinny and on'e lacks conditioning i saw him once getting out of breath running up the short steps to the pitches on the training ground video

Only player who.seems to have put muscle on is seriki who also looked underweight but then came back stacked
But then wether he just did this off his own recognisance or not I dont know
Thats before you even get on the players at the other end of the scale who cant play ninety minutes once a week, never mind twice and it is seriously concerning

I do feel Marsh hasn’t had a proper chance to acclimatise to first team football.

Minutes off the bench etc.

Similar with Oné tbh but necessity is dictating he’s getting more game time.

I agree on Louie being gifted. I also feel that some players who lack obvious physical qualities can partly make up for that by tenacity (or similar). David Brooks, for example, in his development years, if he was bullied or pushed or wrestled away from the ball, he would be back up looking to win it back before he'd even hit the ground. Relentless.

Also, so called gifted players often have an eye for the ball, and if they use that skill correctly, they can be great at just nicking the ball off an opponents toes.

I'm saying that some players who are stick thin, or short, can partly make up for that with other skills.

I feel, unhelpfully, that Louie was so good at U21, a cheat code, that the necessary part of his game hasn't developed. However, that's down to him and the staff at Shirecliffe (opinion).

Watching him though, against "his level", is an absolute joy.

Widely reported we had bids for Cannon and a pint of lager and a bag of crisps should have been enough to show him the door.
If Marsh contributed nothing it would be the same as Cannon and we'd have got him off the wage bill.
Our only hope is One coming back as he will offer more.
