With everyone fit, he doesn’t get in our starting 11 at either right back or in midfield but I’m not against him signing as he seemed a decent guy and gives good cover and competition.

I would be interested to know what we are paying him. Supposedly he was earning north of £50k a week at Leicester and you would assume he wouldn’t walk away from that sort of contract without being compensated, either by us or Leicester.

Covers a couple of positions and unlike other players is usually fit and available.

Not sure we expect Doherty to be able to play 2 games a week.

Think this is spot on. Choudhury is a useful player to have around but it doesn't solve our current issues and possibly even adds to them. Seriki being out means we need cover at RB but Choudhury is a totally different player. We are struggling to keep the ball and create chances, bringing in a hard working but technically limited player doesn't seem like what we need right now. The criticisms are less about Choudhury and more about how much work needs doing elsewhere. It's also another player with no resale value.

Agreed. Do I like that we keep signing the same players over and over again? No, but he's versatile enough that i can get over that

Choudhury is here to cover for Seriki (out for unknown length of time) and possible (next year) as replacement for Phillips.
He's not here for his "resale value", he's here to fill a position in the current team.

Yeah attitude wise he was one of the few players and staff not to slope straight off down the tunnel after the play off final. Leadership our manager couldn’t muster

Given the financial situation, I can see the logic. He’s known, versatile, works hard and is probably a useful player to have around.

But it also feels like another signing that doesn’t really address what we’re actually missing. We desperately need more technical quality, creativity and players comfortable on the ball, and he’s not really any of those things.

Useful signing? Probably. A signing that moves us forward or changes how we play? Sadly not. Another limited player/wilder type, frustratingly so.

I don't mind Choudhury he covers two positions, the trouble is we already have 3 who can play RB and 3or 4 that are defensive midfielders. Makes me wonder why we loaned Doherty and why Wilder said Shackleton had a part to play, unless Seriki is on his way. Also, I'm wondering why we hung on to Rothwell why we resigned Jairo, why we loaned Phillips, unless Peck is on his way too, that wouldn't bother me too much, but we should hang on to Seriki. All the more baffling when we need some creativity in our midfield.
