I have heard we have enquired about Dan James on loan from Leeds. Anyone heard the same? not sure about the other centre back on loan we are after

I think the Hamer replacement is a true winger with pace to give us more balance and a different dynamic. James would basically be perfect for that but feels unlikely.

Feels like we get linked with him every summer (and Jack Clarke) so I'll believe it when he's holding up the shirt.

Would be a class signing if true though, and hopefully Bamford, Rothwell and Shackleton (not sure if Phillips was at Leeds at the same time as him) can have a word and convince him to come here.

I wonder if there is any chance we could get him AND Carvalho now we’ve seemed to opt for Webster?

Donovan would still get games and appearances and he can also play as a 10.

It would put a completely different complexion on the season if we lined up with Dan James on the right and Fabio Carvalho on the left.

We’d suddenly look incredibly quick down the wings and be a massive goal threat.

Chris did say we put two loan bids in. Webster isn’t a loan. He’d be a free perm.

Rather than go up to 10m for Souttar plus 1.5-2m on wages, suppose you put 4m on wages and get these two?

Mate who's a Leeds fan have said if he's going anywhere on loan, its a last week of the window/deadline day thing as he's either being kept or sold

Ramazanni however...

Can't stand the diving little prick but assume he'll have offers from top end teams.

Please Please Wilder go and get this guy hes everything we are lacking going forward

Why on earth would dan james come to a mid table champ team absoloutely zero chance that happens

Plenty of potential reasons:

If he is out of favour at Leeds.
If noone else has expressed any interest.
If he doesn't want to move house.
If he fancies coming to a team with a few familiar faces.
If his manager, who gets on very well with ours, advises him that it will be a good move.

It does amuse me how potential signings get written off, simply because we aren't favourites for promotion. How do other middling teams manage to get decent players in on loan?

We sed similar about Bamford...
James pretending to be concussed after challenges made him particularly hateable for me, but aye, I said similar about Bamford and stand by it. I'd rather not have to support people I don't like.

(But ultimately will anyway, unless it's a Marlon King level of human).

A mid table struggle with a 50 pence and a Mars bar a week wage contribution.

If it even exists.

Mid table hardly suggests a struggle, but see my earlier post on why even such a hellish venture might actually be attractive to a player, who might be out of sorts and who lives down the road.

Plus we don't know what our financial offer might be, but as it happens I share your doubts on whether we have even looked into this.

If he does go out on loan (be surprised if he does)
I can see him coming here for a couple of factors - won’t need to move house, knows a few of the lads (car pool - remember in Wilders first stint we had a lot travel from Lpool area together)
Almost guaranteed a starting spot straight away as we have nobody else to play LW.
Plus Farke & Wilder get on well so can see him being encouraged to pick us

Just need Leeds to cover like 99% of his wages.
