Peck and Arblaster

Peck is the most overrated CM in the league.

Again, for the WetFlannel’s amongst us, this was an observation from last season and we should’ve cashed in.

Peck is slow, has no goal threat, his defensive shape is non-existent, he doesn’t have the ability to take anyone on, he can’t break any lines to support our front two. Hes largely anonymous and was supplemented to where he is now by a brilliant Souza.

I’m reserving judgement on Arblaster because of his injury but last seasons comeback wasn’t great. But, he’s forgiven….for now.
Don’t say that on here Pecks a future England international and worth £15m🤦‍♂️
Average and overrated

Laughable isn’t it. I get that he’s still young but the way he acts you’d think he really does think he’s Lamps or Gerrard.

If he doesn’t figure out a way to dominate our MF then I can see him slipping down the leagues in 2,3,4 seasons to come.

Rabbit in headlights.

For me, Arblaster’s best attributes are his vision for, and execution of, a forward pass. A through ball that gets us in behind.

The other one was his calm ball carrying and ability to keep possession, enabling him to do the former. However, I think the injury has hampered this side of his game and he’s still finding the confidence in his own body to get back the the level he was at.

From a selfish point of view, we want him firing on all cylinders straight away. However, I think for him and the club, we need to be patient and nurture him to his best. He’s shown that he has the potential to be a very important player for us, possibly for the next 10+ years.

Rothwell did well first half, but along with Peck seemed to disappear second half, as we gave up passing through the middle.
Wilder has a knack for finding and playing ‘66 minute midfielders’.

They all start the game ok, but are absolutely shot after 50 mins and eventually get dragged on the 66 minute mark. He should copy-write the idea and sell it. We now have Reidewald, Rothwell, Phillips and Arblaster in this category, 3 of them have had a famous Wilder pre-season as well.

I dont see why they cant play together, they have only played side by side for a handful of games. It's just they didn't play well together straight away, they are both younger players perhaps not as tactically adept as others in the squad and Arblaster coming back from a long injury. Obviously they are a bit similar, box to box, but I imagine both of them will end up playing a deeper role as their careers progress. I just dont expect them to be given the time to try and form a relationship. In the days before plays offs, when a mid table finish was a target, they would probably be given half a season together or smg, based on potential.

Think they were a lot tighter on us the second half & we resorted to bypassing the midfield. Think we need more width ( obvs down the left ) for us to create space & beat teams that press us that way . We also need to move the ball quicker through midfield 👍

I thought Rothwell started the game well but gassed quite early again.

I also thought Arblaster looked as good as he has done since injury. Difficult for the midfielders yesterday as there was very little room in there and both sides were happy to cancel each other out and go through wide areas.

Unfortunately Blaster has come back like NRD a league or two lower than before their injuries. He does not tackle anymore, which is not sustainable in a Championship midfield.

Yes I agree he has a good forward ball in him, but he is not dictating play like a prime Norwood.

Also I am not comfortable with the potential nepotism when it comes round to contract negotiations.

For me he has been back for 6 months and still way off what he was, which was more potential than final product. So should be treated the same as NRD and loaned out.

Hopefully he can turn it round, look a Sam Mac, has come back from a bad injury like nothing has changed.

Fingers crossed he can prove me wrong, as it is the only way we will progress is if we can make our own.

My low quality conspiracy theory is that they could all play 90 if they wanted to, but at a much lower output and the coaching staff, knowing that we now have five subs per game to use, tell them to run their bollocks off so that they end up looking like something vaguely approximating a Championship midfielder. Of course, that would require some combination of sensible thinking and planning, hence it can only be a conspiracy theory

In your head, is our reserve left back Nhys Rorrington-Davies?

Or is it Norrington Rhys-Davies?

If they were running their bollocks off I might agree with you. They don’t appear to be to me.

Both too.skinny need to put on at least a stone of muscle each which at their age should take three months tops
Arbladter lost a lot of weight after his Injury and now just isn't athletic enough to.compete
Whoever is conditioning these players is letting them down

This is an unbelievably depressing thread.

Peck is a competent young midfielder, with an eye for a pass, decent reading of the game and can tackle. He will have a good future in the Championship at worst. His biggest 'fault', is his small stature and lack of out and out pace.

Arblaster is similar, but much more adventurous. He is nowhere near the player he was pre-injury, but given that a few decades ago, an ACL ended your career, but given his yound age, there is plenty of time for him to come good again.

Two academy graduates with superb footballing brains, and yet some of 'fans' can't wait to put the boot in.

It’s not that depressing when you look at the state of those posting the shite. None of them have ever demonstrated that they have any sort of clue about football. But there aren’t many of them.
