Club cant win, pay 10m and its "too much" walk away and its "we shd have signed him and now we will have to play McGuiness"

Hard i know but I think we have to get over the fee and go with Wilders judgement. All of us think its pricey but it may be even more "expensive" not signing him.

One thing is for sure Wilder has big balls nailing his mast to 2 very expensive aging players with injury records!

There might not be another CH as tall or as aerially dominant, but there are many more options out there good enough and notably cheaper.

Who else is bidding with us at the current supposed price?

Russsel Martin giving it the big un I hear… put our full and final in the table and start to talk to other targets…

It’s clear we are the current only bidders and Leicester are dragging it out in the hope someone else comes in …

It’s gonna take Harry to tell them he wants to leave and only to us to get them to shift now…

But we must definitely need to move on other targets as once again as predicted we’ve done our business slowly and we aren’t fully prepared for the first games of the season

At this stage I would go in with £12m+
I would wait for Russel 'dross' Martin to accept defeat that his captain is on his way and then pull the plug and stick 2 fingers up at them.
For £10m, we could get a quality CB and Winger, if this isn't done by close of play tomorrow drop the interest.
Just stupid to put this amount of money in a player with no resale value and being the only bidders.

Like we did McGuinness and Chong?

It’s more annoying that we fanny around when signing players, but seemingly takes us no time at all to sell em. Only took 2 bids for Hamer, and about 20mins of negotiation for poor Brooks. Amount of times we start a season ill-prepared is bonkers.

It’s called ‘every time’

see how jamma plays at weekend, hes earned a chance this pre season looked very assured nice passing range and put body on line .
who could we get for 5 or 6 mil of a souttar stature which is realistically what we should be paying for league 1 players from teams desperate for money! I understand a add on of 2 to 3 mill if we get promoted would make sense. could take a risk on adam webster as a free agent who's recovering from ACL

They are not convenient omissions as you allege.
I was talking about player trading in the sense of buying & selling.
What our academy produces has been very good and more than justifies its existence - I can't fault it.
But other clubs but players on their upward trajectory and sell at a profit.
We have barely ever done that , which is a shame and limits our success
Outside of relatively few clubs, most of whom are established PL teams, how many do as you say though?

I'm struggling to think of any clubs that our kind of level who routinely pick up up-and-coming players which they then sell on for big money. With the restrictions on foreign players and the success or bust mentality of the league as a whole, it's just not a workable model.

Poor hand when we've offered 10 million!
You’re taking poor in the literal sense.

I’m saying we have a poor hand to play when we have gone from an initial bid to one that’s double that we set out with, with no other bidders involved.

What’s Leicester’s incentive to sell when we keep upping the bid? We’re about double where we started, for a player who’s played very few games for his age and is returning from a serious injury.

Not quite sure how Leicester are in any kind of a financial position to be demanding £10m for anyone! They're bleeding cash and not a million miles off administration yet are rejecting £6m bids for players. Make it make sense!
When there’s someone daft enough to pay it, it’s easy to demand it.

Maybe Leicester aren’t in as big a deep hole as many think

Maybe there aren’t many or any really cheap CB left, less than a week before season starts, that all other clubs have passed on

Because they know we are desperate to sign him. Similar situation to Gus we should have said to Coventry start at 10 million. We would have got it. Sadly we are bad at buying and even worse at selling.
