Whatever it is I’ve agreed with pretty much everything he’s said during/after games . I believe his analysis and also his no bull approach has been refreshingly good!
 
Not happening then surely. I don't think we're signing Doherty and Walker.

Unless possibly if we're going full on 532 and Doherty's happy to rotate a bit. Highly doubtful.

Would we really totally put it past United to try and flog Seriki and take another OAP in on a shirt contract as his replacement?

Not sure it was ever happening this summer, really. As much as i'd love to have Walker back, he'll be valuable to Burnley this season and they won't just release him

The time to get him was if we'd gone up instead of Sunderland and we could've signed him that summer.

Hopefully i'm wrong and we can get him signed, he's still one of the paciest players out there and I think he'd be ideal in a back 3, but signing Doherty probably signals that its a non starter for Kyle

Some of the Wolves view froms were suggesting RCB is now Doherty's best (only) position. Which I only saw after my comment.

Walker's chance to ever come back is likely gone. It remains to be seen whether CW will be here next season if we fail to get promoted (v unlikely right now) and he seems about the only manager that would want to resign him purely as he's a fellow Blade.

“If we fail to get promoted…” Wow. How are people still mentioning promotion as even the remotest of possibilities? Some are in for a very nasty surprise this season when it’s likely we’ll be competing at the other end of the table with mid-table being an achievement.

I'm not optimistic, but if Hull can, then so can we. With playoffs expanding too, get off to a decent start and you never know.

There's some absolute dross in this division. As proven by us playing as a Top 2 team between Nov & Feb last season.

Play offs extended to top 8 now - 8th place Derby finished 9pts above United last season...

We only had 10 points after 15 games - 0.6ppg

From the Pigs away game (23rd Nov) we accumulated 1.61ppg - i've chosen that game as that's when I feel Wilder finally got his side sorted and his style embedded.

1.61ppg over 46 games would have had us 6th above Hull.

didnt realise doherty can play rcb certainly gives us the option of 3 at the back and wingbacks which seriki and burrows definetly are and still think mcallum could do a job at lcb

Already addressed that in post #586 - the post you originally responded to.

  • If you want to work on the last 20 at 1.35ppg, that's 62 points over a season - 2 more point than we got last year.
    • We actually averaged 1.4ppg in the last 20 though, so 64 points over a season - enough to finish 10th last season
  • From the Pigs game in Nov to the end of the season, we averaged 1.61ppg - enough to finish 6th last season
  • Wilder had 41 games last season and won every single point - 1.46ppg
I have posted that we averaged top 2 form between Nov & Feb.
I have posted that from the pigs game onwards we averaged top 6 form
I have referenced that it took time for Wilder to pick up the pieces from what Selles created and left behind and explained why I went from the Pigs game initially

All the bullets above have us challenging play offs next season with the top 8 qualifying.
  1. Your incorrect 1.35ppg would have us 7points behind 8th placed Derby - so in theory taking it to game #43
  2. The actual last 20 games 1.4ppg would have us 5 points behind - so in theory taking it to game #44
  3. Pigs game until end of season (1.61ppg) would have had us finish 6th above Hull
  4. Wilders 41 games (1.41ppg) would have had us 2 points off Derby - so in theory taking it to the final game
I've posted factually and set out various scenarios which explain my initial post.
You seem to have a problem with what i've said, without actually explaining to me why we won't be in a Play Off race next season?

I agree totally. Thing is we haven't got the money to compete with the other teams. First we had the poorest Prince in Saudi. Now we have the poorest Americans.
 



Everton did express an interest in Seriki, would not suprise me if they came in for him as an understudy to Walker
