After what seemed like a first half of real pressure and lacklustre performance by united.......what a relief to get that second goal and win the game.
Hope we can move forwards now...but:
Bash am not good enough
The young lad from Blackpool at centre half....needs confidence and I think a rest
Murphy very good
Davies awsome

I'm not sure god had much to do with it, this isn't USA ya know.

3 points agogo! Title practically in the bag :)

Cracking result.

Well done the management and players after a fair bit of criticism.

Hope it's the season turning point :)

Basham sounded better today?
Wasn't he?

Too lightweight for me.......I have seen nothing to suggest he was a good champ player...........maybe I'm being a bit harsh as it's only early days....guess I was expecting more from him from the off.

Winning at Peterborough away is a huge result. Great to see Baxter starting and Alcock played in his natural position. Come on, let's push on now and get out of this fucking league.

Clough for England manager!

Clough out, we'll never win a game whilst he's in charge . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh well would you look at that ;)

Right team selection, right result well done Nigel and the lads, great result.

Got some hammering on the chattery-box-thingy-mi-jig on here but I'm still looking at that back four. I know McGahey is young and he needs the pitch time to come good and stuff but I wonder at what cost. I don't understand this all Butler situation for the life of me. Clough says he's not impressed enough on the training ground. The lad has 300+ first team appearances, has captained his club and has put the ball in the net twice already for us. You lay good solid foundations in football to build on and that starts with a solid back four. The defending has been poor and had Peterboro been a bit more clinical tonight they would have put it to bed but luckily they didn't

I will take that win though none the less. Breaks the duck and finally kicks us off, Posh is a dodgy place to go and is far from easy so to come away with three points is top stuff. Hugely important to do the business against Crawley now at the weekend to build a bit of momentum before Joe Garner and co.

Hopefully Clough will realise that Davies is much more effective in midfield than at rb now
I didn't go but felt that moving Alcock to right back and Davies wide right would be a good move. Flynn obviously isn't performing and doesn't deserve to start.

Anyone who went, how did McEveley play ? Hard to tell from the radio commentary.

Relief to get first points of the season tonight! Away at Peterborough is never a easy game so it makes it even sweeter. Need to keep it going for Crawley though. Cut out the silly mistakes. Like the look of our right hand side with Alcock at RB and Davies RW. Could be a good pairing as the season progresses, Alcock overlapping and Davies crossing

1 win off 2nd spot with 43 to go , lot better off than last season
I know your main point is there's a long way to go but we aren't one win off 2nd spot and we have less points than we had after 3 games last season.

However, I'm absolutely confident we won't now go on a 6 game losing streak like we did under that idiot Weir. Was that really only a year ago ? :(

Sounded a lot better and it seems we improved as the game went on.

As a side note Basham reminds me of Bob Booker a lot.

The amount of people that went into meltdown after the first two defeats. Makes you laugh really. Like I said support the team and the manager they will come good. Been loads of changes in the team, just takes a bit longer for them to gel together and find the right first 11. UTB!

Basham will get better and better if given the time imo.I know i'm in the minority mind looking at the defensive midfield thread, but if it was between Doyle or Basham,it would be Basham everday for me,he's the one to kick us on.

I would love to see the stats between him and Doyle to see who lost the ball most,i'd allmost guarentee it was Doyle who lost it most and this is where the goals will come from.

Like i said, title practically in the bag! :)

We had all this "only x points off the play-offs" stuff last year and we all know how that went. We're 3 points off the play-offs, 3 points off the bottom. Not really the time to get carried away one way or the other.

Amazing what a win will do to lift the spirits. Listening to the commentary, Peterborough missed a sitter to make it 2-1 early in the 2nd half. We could have easily lost this, but beaten Bristol City. It's all about fine margins but I've seen no evidence yet that we are going to dominate games or that the defence will be as tight as last season after February. Still, great to be off the mark and 3 points against Crawley will should dispel any doubts that we won't at least be competitive this season.

It sounded like there weren't any passengers in the team today at least.

Liar! :)

Actually, we're bypassing sir Michael of Mouseville.
