His mates in a high profile position, he’s openly slagging off his mates employers, insinuating about his mates staff or leaking private information for no other benefit than to stroke his ego. If he was any mate, he’d keep what’s discussed solely within the pub and not on social media.
They both do to be honest. If you have an issue with your employer then discuss it in private and iron it out. Don't go tittle-tatling to your mates or to the local hack and let it play out in public. It's like a load of schoolgirls talking behind each other's backs and looks terribly amateurish.
It's all a bit Steve Bracknall, isn't it?

Had it not been for Wilder in the first place we would never have been in the PL in the first place.l and that was without parachute payments. Bettis was there when Hecky got us promoted too and it was Wilder who brought in Hecky. The recruitment team have also signed Osula, Jebbo, Lankshear, Peck and Ndiaye, all under Bettis' control.

In more recent times under Wilder in our first season back in the Championship we signed Campbell on a free who was one of the best forwards in the league in his first season and not many would have predicted tha. Souttar on loan who was definitely one of the best centre backs we've ever had, Burrows who was in the league team of the season in his first season, McCallum on a free who has since proved to be an excellent addition. The fact that the free transfers were released by other Championship clubs tells you they were not considered as worthy of keeping and yet Wilder signed them allowing us to spend money on other players we needed on loan or permanent who cost more like Souttar and Burrows.

Wilder also signed Bamford and Jairo on frees.

If you're looking for blame I think it's COH sports who have very little idea on recruiting in any shape or form whether that be players or the appointment of Selles.

I agree with all the above but if we are talking Brooks specifically and in general this summer approach, whatever it entails, then I disagree and think this summer and brooks is on wilder

I don’t think they brought him back or he came back, accepting to be bypassed with transfers so I think they received the offer and wilder
Said yes, I think COH have likely realised they overstretched and therefore they are giving wilder a freer hand this summer and this is on wilder

If he did genuinely go for "ambition" you can't blame him after last summer's transfer window. Be a while before we get rid of the shite we signed.

Really? Signing young players with high potential that you can then sell on for profits is basically the only way that you can break even or better in the Championship without huge outlier sorts of commercial revenue (i.e. Wrexham), and the only way you will assemble a squad that can get to the PL and have any hope of staying there. That is what we should be doing, not assembling the squad with the worst output to wages ratio in the division due to stockpiling aging players whose peak has already passed. If that isn't your plan to have the club progress, then what is it?

If Andre was joining a Premier League club then I reckon we’d be looking for close to the £15m mark, but as he’s stayed in the Championship, we’re going to struggle to get much more than £8m.

Given the circumstances, I don’t really have an issue with the fee. The real question is why didn’t we just keep him?
The more annoying thing is that it’s the type of move you just know we would never ever make.

We are so keen to cut our cloth accordingly after relegation rather than strong arm the shit out of the division. I admire how West Ham nearly always make short work of bouncing back.

I never really commented on Brooks.

I think Brooks is better than Peck though and he's ended up at fucking Norwich.

Doesn't bode well for Arsenal's £40m swoop for old Peck.

😅😅

Some of our fans are so deluded when it comes to these youth players.
I was replying to.yiur comment about 30 m brooks which you've followed up with a 40 m peck
I mean have people actually said that to you. ?

Wilder very much back in charge.

Kalvin Phillips coming in, Riedewald released.

Andre Brooks sold to Norwich.

Probably Seriki next.

Wilder wants his boys club .

Brooks put a post on Instagram recently referencing a lack of appreciation. It was quite clear what he was referring to, we saw it all last season.

It's not everyone's opinion, but we need to move to a DoF model or similar. We can't keep letting Wilder and his mates run all things football.

It feels a shame to me, this. It doesn't feel like the right time to sell Brooks & Seriki, they're progressing very well and one more season (probably) would've seen their value increase significantly.
That's the added stress, it didn't feel like a stretch of the imagination that they could stick around for another year.

Yeah cos people vastly overrate any youth player we produce.

And you can slap another £10m onto the price tag if they're a Blade as well. 🙄

Even though this Brooks transfer has just blown that nonsense to pieces.

Just please, please use the money wisely. I don't want any journeymen shite. I don't even want Rothwell here, his legs have gone. Just invest it well on promising talent. Which is ironic, because that's what he is too.

Do you tell your mates the intricacies of your job? He can't have it both ways. He tries to control the narratives through his tame journo and his mates. Same as the previous owner did with El Cunt
Well it's your opinion he tries to control some narrative. If you worked at Tesco you wouldn't be responsible for your mates never criticising Tesco

We need to level the books do it's a gamble to not sell Brooks and rely on others receiving favourable offers instead. selling Brooks early in the window no doubt also allows Wilder to bring in players he wants without having to wait for others to go first so this could be a consideration too

I suspect Peck will also need to go. So whilst Wilder no doubt has some say in it he possibly doesn't to an extent would be my guess. I wanted Brooks to stay myself because he's a good young prospect and he offers pace and creativity.

Was Wilder responsible for the signing of Souttar?

Your point about Wilder bringing in Hecky may be true but there is an argument that Wilder (whilst not at the club) stabbed Hecky in the back in order for the Ptince to re-instate him.
That was December 2023. Apart from reaching a play-off final not much has improved.

I mean that’s fair, personally I think Wilder holds position where if he said no then it would be no, at least until Jan window, obviously it might just be sensible business, it might be a case of wilder thinks they are over paying, who knows at this point

Expected Gus , Peck and at least one of Femi or Brookes to be moved on .
No surprises here really apart from it being Norwich.
Decent player , far from irreplaceable, non are though, be reyt .
Brookes likes to holiday in Great Yarmouth and drinks in the Steam Packet public house .

No brainier for him really .

Bit like Upton Blade being offered a lifetime membership at Bridlington Links golf course - he’d be off like a shot too

Everyone has their tipping point

You know where he hangs out and just happened to be there when the young and still vulnerable Master Brookes was probably having a glass of lemonade and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps?

Because we have very little money , no parachute fall-back , reduced room for financial flexibility, owners who probably don’t want to invest / have a lack of interest .

Yes

I was the barmaid - I go by the weekend name of Michelle but I’m not anyone’s for nothing - I have standards
