Am I the only one who actually is happy with this deal? I don’t think he’s all that great and doesn’t have a lot of end product for a winger at Championship level. If the deal is actually worth 8-10 million like some reports have stated we all would have taken that.

We can use that money to reinvest and bring in better players. Trust me this was a good move. Just wait.
What? No we fucking would not. It's still not nearly enough

Furious about this. Selling one of our best prospects / players who is a local lad to another championship rival is a joke.

Norwich don’t have parachutes and are in a similar position to us!! Makes no sense

We better be spending the cash on exciting players.

Currently zero excitement for this season

We really are Banter FC at times. Joke transfer. Cant wait for his 5 foot 4, 32 year old, replacement to be announced.
Want to wish GLTTL but I know he will score against us home and away
If he does well against us, I think I'll just laugh. Out of pain, but still. I could see him wanting to prove a point against Wilder if they truly did not get on.

Wilder very much back in charge.

Kalvin Phillips coming in, Riedewald released.

Andre Brooks sold to Norwich.

Probably Seriki next.

Wilder wants his boys club .

Brooks put a post on Instagram recently referencing a lack of appreciation. It was quite clear what he was referring to, we saw it all last season.

It's not everyone's opinion, but we need to move to a DoF model or similar. We can't keep letting Wilder and his mates run all things football.

It feels a shame to me, this. It doesn't feel like the right time to sell Brooks & Seriki, they're progressing very well and one more season (probably) would've seen their value increase significantly.

He's 22. And in today's market he'll be worth 20-30 million if he takes the next step.

Yes. Just you.

I always try to wait until the window closes to judge the transfer business. But fuck me, we’re going to need to bring in some real quality to turn this window into something decent after this bombshell.

All our targets to replace him will get snapped up by more ambitious clubs (like Norwich) and we’ll end up with a 5th choice 32 year old from Peterborough.

I don’t get why everyone is so mad with this? Relax!

If we bought Brooks last season for 10 million for him to start nearly every game and only scoring 6 goals out of 46 games you are telling me you’d be happy with that???

8-10 million to Norwich is daylight robbery. We can get someone way better than Brooks for that price. There’s free agents out there being released from good Premier League clubs who would do better on a free transfer.

Please just relax and see the other side to it. Have a beer in the sun man. Fuck me.

Put your house on sale. Start a bidding war with Elon musk, the Saudis and China. Got it. Easy. Dunno why I didn't think of that.
You must know what I mean though, and you must be being facetious??

As in, if you are willing to cash in, make it publicly know, push his name. He's a promising talent.

This is where we are in the timeline - some clubs whose parachute payments ended:
Charlton, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan, Reading, Hull, Sunderland, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Swansea, Stoke, QPR, Watford, Derby, Birmingham, Wolves, Middlesbrough, West Brom

Hull and Sunderland got promoted this year, and Middlesbrough, Derby and Norwich were pushing for promotion so that at least gives us hope.

On the other hand, the majority of those teams went down to League One...

I'd admire your optimism with the reinvestment and on that basis would you like to invest in some magic beans I have?

I always try to wait until the window closes to judge the transfer business.

Why? Don't even try to make the "it will enable us to buy players a, b and c" argument. Look at it in a vacuum. If it is a bad transfer, then it also meant that we did not bring in players x and y, and also needed to sell player z.

Of course, it is always hard to say what to think given that the club (understandably) won't actually disclose the exact transfer fee, but if they are obliged given the deal to not do so, they could reassure they've got close to value by saying something like "an eight figure sum". Which they didn't.
