This lad has been flagged as one with potential in the football league for some time, so much so that I can recall watching him in games when Wigan have been on the box to see what he was like (i rate him for what it's worth but hes still a pup, but a pup with potential).

The money that we spent on Grbic might have been better spent on perhaps bringing in a kid like him and also bringing in a loan signing stop gap as we knew we were going down. That said, if we did, perhaps we don't then get Coops on a permanent so maybe the right decision in hindsight, but I would imagine Tickle has been on our radar for a while.

The signing of Grbic remains one of the laziest I’ve witnessed. A simple view from by Roy told you all you needed to know.

It seems they didn’t scout him properly. Not sure what Matt Duke was given to review.

Maybe we'll try to cash in on Cooper and replace him. There is logic to that given his injury troubles

Logically you’d spend the 2M on a back up keeper that’ll be around for three or so years who’s shown good promise previously, and has a higher ceiling than Davies. However logic isn’t something Sheffield United do, hence us looking at signing Phillips.

Whether people like it or not we now have 4 keepers under contract, one of which has to be moved on urgently and the other has just had his contract extended.

Agreed, we dont need one KMC unless Cooper's injury is long term. Even when Cooper was injured Davies did alright and was nowhere near the top of our 'worries'.

To be fair, I think he’d be happy to compete for the first team spot, if Coopers fitness is as spotty as it were this season, he’d be in with a solid chance of taking the shirt too.

Couple of sources have debunked the rumour he’s out for a year.

There was also a post from a forum regular who said he bumped into Cooper and asked him. He was told no surgery and back for pre-season.

I think it’s more of a case as to whether we can trust he re-finds form

hopefully we have the right CB's in front of him to give him confidence and to rebuild his form and confidence.
