This season we won 9 league home games and we won 9 away games. In 1973/74 season we won 7 home and 7 away. In the 1938/39 promotion season we won 9 home but won 11 away.

Any more seasons like that?

I reckon that if you haven't discovered one there probably isn't one!

What was the season where our away record was better than our home record so the manager arranged for the team to be bussed to home games via the Peak District?

Remember that purple patch under Porterfield in autumn 1985? We won 4-1 away at Bradford, 5-1 at Oldham and 3-0 at top of the league Portsmouth, but couldn't seem to win at home, although we did go back to being shit away once the purple patch finished.

Think Bradford game was at Elland Road. We were losing very early on at Oldham and Portsmouth were top, after winning all their home games, without conceding a goal.

Yes the Bradford game was at Elland Road. Oldham took the lead after 2 minutes but we raced into a 4-1 lead at half-time. The second half was relatively boring so our fans were singing "All we are saying is give us a goal". Peter Withe used to throw his Sheffield United sweatbands into the crowd and my mate caught them that day.

Great memories of days when just supporting the team was all that mattered. Certainly for us younger ones.

I was thinking of 08/09 when we went on that long (club record?) unbeaten away record under Blackwell, but turns out we drew most of them! We won 1 or 2 more at home in the end.

Just checked properly, 12 home wins and 10 away, though we did go 15 unbeaten away after losing the first four (the final one being 1-0 at Hillsborough).
