Number of rumours flashing around (mainly from the less credible sources) of agreed fees this evening.

To my knowledge, the position hasn't changed yet.

Well, if someone's agreed to meet our valuation and that is the decision of the football people (NC and MB really) then I'm satisfied they know what they are doing and the deal is in the best interests of the Blades. It will also make for an interesting (and hopefully bearded) couple of weeks!

None of the above suggests I want rid of Harry. Under NC he matured and improved enormously. He moved from potential to player.

There is, of course, a valuation. To my knowledge, that valuation hasn't been met yet in order to turn anything even into a consideration.

Like you say, if something comes up that is in the best interests, then fair enough.

Not sure at this stage why a lot of people appear to be panicking.

If he leaves I still wouldn't understand the panicking, it just means someone's met our valuation.
If a Premiership team comes in for him of course he'll want to go.
If they meet our valuation he'll go, and of course there is great interest in him from a higher level.

Heard we've agreed an upfront fee of 1.7mill with a further 500k for Harry's first senior England Appearance and a further 500k if he plays 25 games with Hull.

Oh, oh, the legendary, the one and only, the most In The Know fantasist this, or any other site, will have graced it's pages has given us another in the long line of dead in the water 'absolutes' that we're expected to swallow hook, line, and sinker......think about it, "Heard we've agreed..." oh really??? And what part of the inner sanctum do you use your crowbar to gain access to? It's as if having been exposed for what you are, you give it a rest, then reappear in the hope the folks on here forget about your ludicrous creations? You mate, are the Blade's very own Walter Mitty.

When has reason stopped Blades having a good old flap? Many times now it's been said there is a valuation, not yet met. If it's met he leaves. We then have cash to invest in, I guess three new players. Team improved, squad significantly improved. It's all good!

And the same fans slagging him will want him back as we do all old Blades.
He will take over from Michael Brown ,Paddy and Tongey in the bladebacktothelane league. :)

I am pretty sure Nigel isn't stupid enough to think that Harry is a shoe in for 1 cap. Swap that add on for 'premiership survival'

...it's funny isn't it that a team would put in a clause dependant on said player gaining a full England cap and yet be baulking at 1.5 Million or so...

Wether or not HM has twitter. Different football related transfer pages on twitter, skybet championship transfer news ect, are trending in sheffield and they are saying that he has turned down wolves for LEAGUE ONE club sheff united and has signed a three year contract. It all looks very legitimate to me anyway.

Wolves fans are gutted lol

Bit bitter also...

EDIT: sortin' me grammar out
Hope grammpar, don't catch you.

Ah! So it's our fault is it? Bit like if the wife fucks off with another man. 'We had some good times together, but don't expect me to wish her well.'

If it's Hull, it will soon turn into a bad move for Harry. Dawson, quite rightly, has turned Hull down citing that 'He'd rather stay in London.' (Who wouldn't?) Hull just make up the numbers in the PL and the thought of Harry up against Sturridge and Sterling, Man. City, Arsenal etc. is truly frightening.

If Harry does indeed sign for Hull, I wouldn't care if he was skinned by every attacker in the Premier League.
It's high time this was sorted one way or the other. IMO his head has been turned, quicker than he can apparently turn it himself.
I understand that other players who have played the will I won't I sign game, were given short shrift by the manager.
If the one for all and all for one image is true, then Nigel should treat Harry the same..

He has still a year on his contract though so doesn't need to sign anything yet. If the right offer is made I'm sure Nigel will let him go.

I'm still not convinced he's any better than Chumpionship standard. Any kind of pace catches him out and I think he'll be found out at a higher level. Could be wrong and he may turn out to be a superstar but if we get the deal we're holding out for then fine, move on.

He isn't the quickest by any means, but that doesn't necessarily mean he can't hack it at a higher level. The greatest defender I've seen, Franco Baresi had neither height nor great pace. They say the first five yards is all in the head (Baresi probably made that ten) and if you have an inert ability to read the game and anticipate things, lack of pace is no obstacle.

That said, he isn't yet ready for the PL, if he ever will be. Still very young though with time to develop.

I'm sure that Maguires agent is pushing for his big fee but it smacks of desperation to come out and say that Hull City would be a 'dream move' (Albeit that he didn't actually name them )

I can realistically see Hull City dropping like a stone through the football pyramid and Harry trotting out as the captain in league one alongside half a dozen journeymen and a couple of juniors. I've nothing against ambition, but Hull City, really.

Be careful what you wish for Harry!

The only way our squad will be strong enough to challenge for automatic promotion is to get tid of harry and bring in a rb /ch and striker
We all know it

Paul McGrath was another player. He had bad knees and it was rumoured did not train. By the time he came to us he was completely knackered but it was amazing how he could read the game and always seemed to be in the right position despite the fact he could hardly run at all. Pity we only got about 2 months out of him before his knees stopped him playing at all.

I am not sure how recent this quote from Harry is. I think it may be quite old and after all any player must "dream of playing in the PL". All this publicity however must be upsetting for Harry and the other players and the situation needs to be resolved ASAP. I do not begrudge Harry bettering himself by playing at a higher level for larger wages. Ultimately it will boil down to his attitude. NC will presumably know when his heart is not in it and then there will be little option but to move Harry on.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Bobby Moore was the same but he played the game in his head and this made him look faster. Maguire is very good for a centre half at getting forward too ,we will miss that. However the premier league has very fast players up front these days in comparison to older times and lower leagues but I think Maguire s good enough to adapt and he will become a premiership player eventually.

It seems Butler was a short term replacement then, mcghey for the long term.
I just can't see us getting the 3m
That's been quoted. I love Harry but I completely understand this move for him, and if we got the full 3m that would fund a mcghey, Brayford and striker deal then I'd drive him to hull myself.....
But 1.75m plus all these bull$&*t add-ons really won't help us strengthen this summer

Oh, it really would!

However, we have not accepted any such offer. I suspect our valuation is over £2m. Quite right too.

You know, we can't stop other clubs making inadequate offers (though we have told them not to bother!) or the press reporting them. It doesn't mean we're about to sell at an undervalue.

It's a new era. NC and MB are as savvy as anyone out there and we have a bit of financial muscle. If a deal is done it will be for our benefit, not Hull, Wolves, Harry, his greedy, loathsome agent or anyone else.

How would less than 3m help us strengthen on last year?
Liverpool were reported to want 1-1.5m for coady
We wouldn't get Brayford for under 1m
And it sounds like Blackpool want 1m for Mcghey(though I doubt we'll pay that)
So, to bring back two of our better performers last season- and to replace our best academy graduate with an unproven youngster will cost us around 3m.... And I wouldn't class that as strengthening

Best academy graduate? Really?

Thought he was playing for Spurs and missed out on the World Cup?

That was almost 5years ago, Harry being our best ever academy player wasn't even my point, the valuation of selling a prospect like him was.
The two kyles leaving got us almost 9million too.

Not sure if you are winding people up with this.

Are you seriously saying that £3million won't improve our chances of promotion if it . We are in Division 1 so we could easily get 3 players for that money who will see us though.. We have already effectively replaced HM with Butler(if HM leaves.) Butler is a good experienced L1 defender who will be good enough. We do need extra cover there thou which is where the lad from Blackpool comes in

Forget about Coady and Brayford. The lad from Blackpool will cost around £250k at most I reckon due to his lack of league experience . Would also argue whether Coady was one of our 'better' performers last seasons although he did OK. We gave bought Basham and Wallace as well as having Scougall and Baxter so I don't think he will be missed. Right Back and a striker required which I am sure we will get for the remaining £2mill- £2.5million
