Typical United. All starting to go relatively smoothly then we lose Jairo before the game. Then we get Soumare and Tanganga banned for 3 games each. Then Bindon goes off at HT.

What the fuck just happened there in 45 mins.

Worth pointing out that he got the 1st 2 big decisions wrong, the tackle on McCallum which warranted at least a yellow and very possibly a red and then the push on Bamford in the box, these decisions cost United the game, what happened later just compounded how poor he was

Don't get me started on refs. Daughter saved a pen today. Right save. U13s.

Ref ordered re take for encroachment.

The twat
Had a very similar experience at u8s with my sons team.

Cup game went to penalties, our lad scored the winning penalty but ref disallowed it for one of the lads getting too enthusiastic to support his team mate and he ended up in the box.

Management should have kept an eye, but surely in a penalty shoot out, its also the refs responsibility to ensure everyone is where they should be.

Anyway, my lads team then lost the match on the next two penalties 😔

F@ck all this blame the ref it’s embarrassing

We lost because our captain lost his head and chose to give the ref decision

The first one Soumare is 1/3 of a second late and takes the man

The second one is worse tanganga choose to give the ref a choice to make

Strip him of the captaincy he has let his team down

I'll blame the ref all day long for poor decisions. As I've pointed out on another thread, he had got 2 big decisions wrong before the red card's, the tackle on McCallum was shocking and a red all day long, as a comparison look at the tackle by dalot on dorku in the Manchester Derby, that was a red, everyone covering that game said so, the push on Bamford, it's a penalty all day long. Those decisions have a direct consequence on the game .Charlton down to 10 men and a may well be a goal down due to a penalty being given, his performance was shocking, player's get called out, why shouldn't referee's.

Silly lad.

If you want to get under peoples skin as the biggest wilder fan or hater in the world, whatever.

Despite your opinion, this game was ruined by the ref. He didn't make the decisions he was supposed to make leading up to the initial sending off - therefore that never would've happened.

End of the day, he was dying to be the main character. Very sad on his behalf really that he decided to ruin a good game because of it.

I work with two people who reffed at Avery high level (step 1) and I can confirm that they are as insufferable, self righteous, pious cunts as you would expect.

I know the game needs refs and I'm sure there are plenty out there who are decent, but a hell of a lot give off that main character energy vibe.

He totally ruined the game. Whatever you think about United, the ref made himself the most important man of the field for no reason at all.

He didn’t ruin the game

He gave a red card for a stoods up challenge that may have injured the Charlton player

He sent off our captain for flying elbowing a Charlton player

The referee did nothing wrong

I keep hearing pundits saying we need ex-pros to become refs. How is that supposed to work?

Imagine Gary Nevillle turning up at Anfield to ref a game? Or the Etihad? Or Elland road? Or the Emirates? Or any game where the result would make a big difference to Man United’s league position or cup chances? Or a game his former team-mate is playing in? Or with a manager he fell out with? Or a manager he really got on well with?

It just seems a daft idea to me that you try to get people to go from playing the game to reffing it, where the number one requirement is to be absolutely unequivocally impartial - and seen to be so. No-one is going to trust they are.
