Wrexham captain James McClean ( horrible man ) will miss our game having been given a three game ban for an off the ball incident in the recent game against Swansea.
Has to be a benefit but I can see a number of cards being dished out in this game.

BBC

James McClean has been banned for three matches following an incident during Wrexham's defeat at Swansea City last Friday.

Videos circulated on social media after the game appearing to show McClean flicking a boot towards Ronald when the Swansea winger was lying on the pitch.

The Football Association (FA) says McClean, 36, has admitted a charge of violent conduct.

"The player's behaviour around the 94th minute wasn't seen by the match officials at the time, but it was caught on video, and the FA alleged that it constitutes violent conduct," an FA statement said.

"James McClean subsequently admitted the charge against him and accepted the standard penalty for violent conduct."

McClean has started Wrexham's past seven matches with New Zealand international left-back Liberato Cacace missing through injury.

Former Republic of Ireland international McClean has made 18 appearances this season, but will now miss Wrexham's upcoming games against Sheffield United, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers.
"Wrexham can confirm James McClean will be suspended for three matches, following an incident in the match against Swansea City," the Red Dragons said on their website.

"Though referee Oliver Langford took no action at the time, McClean was charged following review of the match video, for misconduct for a breach of rule E1.1."

As far as I’m aware he’s never advocated for terrorrism? He was, however, brought up as a catholic in Derry. He’s entitled to his beliefs which will have been coloured by where he comes from, just as morons who can’t be arsed to read what he’s actually said over the years are entitled to demonise him and to be judged for that.

No matter who the player is, "Flicking a boot" at someone is hardly violent conduct is it ffs?
Nevertheless, he's always been a nasty piece of work so in this day and age, it serves him reyt.

So being supportive of the IRA is not advocating terrorism?

Whilst what I know about him I don't like. I looked up Wikipedia (not always Gospel truth), but it does indicate he has a good side:

Philanthropy

McClean has made a number of charitable donations. He made a significant donation to homeless people at the Wells and Foyle Valley House in Derry. He donated £1,500 for a custom hand cycle bike to help a child who had spina bifida. He made another significant donation to the Wells facility in the Bogside, for up to 24 men who have alcohol problems. He paid £1,750 for a new mobile home after hearing about a pregnant homeless woman's struggles on social media. He donated £1,000 to help pay for specialist proton therapy in Florida for a four-year-old child with cancer. He donated €1,200 to help pay for the funeral of a two-year-old boy who was struck by a car. In December 2016 he set up a new clothing line with proceeds going to help homeless residents of his native Derry. He donated £500 to an online fund set up to support the family of a missing Derry man.

Where’s the evidence of that?

Plenty, if you bother to look.

At Stoke during Covid he posted a picture of teaching children in a balaclava, which he later said was 'a joke'.
However when fans chant at him about the Pope, he has moaned this is unfair.

His pathetic 'look at me' anti poppy stance, tramples over the memories of the 35,000 Irishmen who died in the Great War, and another 10,000 who died in WW2.

He proclaims to know about Irish history, but it seems to only the Republican view to fit his agenda.

So, does a lot of work for charity but doesn't like to talk about it?

The folk memory of Bloody Sunday is strong in Derry. I understand that.

Try reading a bit more about what he’s actually said about his stance on the poppy because your interpretation is wide of the mark. It’s up to him whether or not he wears it, none of your business or mine.

That evidence he posted on Instagram & deleted? after getting fined from stoke at the time for it.

Even bringing his young kids into his post at the time & forcing them to wear Irish flag balaclavas.
You mean a joke that backfired? Plenty of us have done that.

Where's your evidence of it being a joke?
Him saying it was. It also looked very much like it if you actually saw it. But I understand why some would choose to make a big deal out of it. I find it pathetic and unintelligent, but I understand it. Some people love to have their prejudices fed.

He's completely welcome to his views in my opinion and I can understand them to a degree

But then isn't he a bit of a sell out living and paying tax to the British government 🤷‍♂️🤔

The people that chunter about his anti poppy stance are the same fuckers that stumble into the ground half pissed, swearing and singing every year whilst others are showing respect for the fallen with a minutes silence. Pot, kettle and all that. He's entitled to his opinion whether you or I agree with it or not.

Why is it? I’ve lived under a number of governments I’ve ideologically despised but have accepted the principle that I was born and live here and pay taxes accordingly.

Oh right your evidence is beacuse he said it was 😂😂 absolutely ridiculous. Seems unintelligent & gullable to see it that way but each to their own I suppose.

Did you miss the second bit where I suggested actually looking at the photo? Maybe do that, and then try thinking for yourself.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
Read up on your history of what the Brits got up to across the pond. Genocide.

As much as you might not like the IRA, they formed for a reason.
Okay so we are now calling terrorist freedom fighters.

Those that blow up the busses in London, freedom fighters, bloke that just attacked the synagogue was a freedom fighter, bin laden that well known freedom fighter.
