Excluding the players obviously well out of our reach like Lampard, the Cole's, Anelka, etc., out of that list I'd definitely take;

Chuks Aneke, Milan Lalkovic, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Julian Speroni, Dean Moxey, Matty Fryatt, Robert Koren, David Fox, Keiren Westwood, Scott Allan, Jordan Spence.

Dikgacoi is the real standout name from that lot and would be more or less perfect to either play alongside Doyle (or even replace him) but I don't know how realistic he'd be, could see a top-end Championship club coming in for him. Fryatt and Speroni would be great too, but again I could see other clubs higher up the ladder making offers for them.

I'd have a word with Chuks Aneke and Matty Fryatt, so long as its not Lappin and Forte.

The Palace list intrigues me. A club with a great youth policy, but all of a sudden one which finds itself in a position where it's unlikely to blood them.

There must be some real potential in that list of unfamiliar names.

Dean Moxley has played under Clough before and a pretty versatile player who can play anywhere from keeper to full back to striker, getting on a bit though.
Mecheda would also be a quality signing, although I imagine he'll probably just go back to Birmingham.

Fryatt, a man who started the FA Cup Final, will not drop to League One. That's absolute fantasy.

to many to list will expect most to make there way to the championship, wait for championship released list.

Id like Aneke & Lalkovic from Chelsea.

Look at the waste of money on there.. How much did the keeper Gomes cost Spurs for instance? Shocking waste of money.

Anelka also. How much fucking money just down the swanny in wages.

Anyone else who'd take Ameobi? He gets a lot of stick but I'm sure he'd be more than capable at League 1 level. All in all he's got a record of about 1 in 5 at Newcastle which translates to about to 9-10 goals a season in League 1, plus he'd probably get more than that due to playing against much worse opposition than he was in the Premier League.

Provided he's not on massive wages I'd go as far as saying I actually want him here. Him and Sharp/McNulty upfront could be lethal at this level.

Realistically, I think any youngsters being released by any of the clubs should be trialled if deemed potentially good enough to challenge in the first team.

In terms of more experienced players, i'd have a go for:

Robert Koren
Matt Etherington
David Vaughan
Zoltan Gera

Only based on the fact that they may still offer something but may come cheaper and be willing to drop down given their age. You can have a squad with a lot of youngsters, but you need experience as well.

Good selection there SotonBlade, when I looked at the original list I just saw a blur of names so bypassed quite a few.

Agree completely about the experience element in any team. At this level Etherington, Koren or Gera, would all do a good job, and bring that touch of quality to our existing ranks.

There is a team from that list which would win the championship!

Most out of reach I fancy. :(

HH

Of them I'd look at: Delfouneso, Vellios, Briggs, Allan but especially Aneke and Lalkovic. Both looked class against us last year!

I don't think anybody else has mentioned him but I've always rated Stephen Reid. At 33 we're more likely to be able to sign him, and he would have plenty of experience, but I'm not sure if he's past it or not.

I take it some of these are still in contract talks with their clubs?

I cannot for the life of me see why Palace would let Speroni go? most underrated 'keeper in the Championship for many seasons and had a storimg season last year? Very strange.

Agree Bladepicker, Speroni is a 'keeper I've admired for years, and he should get snapped up quickly. Maybe Pulis wants a younger guy in the nets. Speroni is 35, but performs as if he's in his late 20's. A tough one on the 'keeper, but if anyone deserves to be picked up by a new club it's this guy.

I'd give him a 2 year contract in a heartbeat. top 'keepers can go well into their 40th year if agile enough - last season suggests he has lost none of his instinct.

While it is not an area I have full confidence in with either Howard or Long, it is not an area we can afford to waste wages on, so it would be a no go for us but a top end Champ/lower Prem team should snap him up.

Palace are continuing talks with Speroni, Chamakh and Dikgacoi but as their contracts end in the next 4 weeks they have to be included on the released list - much like Porter.

Even if Speroni did leave on a free there would be a number of mid-table and bottom third Premiership teams who'd have him in a heartbeat. We wouldn't stand a chance.

exactly - like I said he would not be a realistic target or is he what we should be spending our budget on, I was just suprised Palace would release him. As you say though they are ongoing talks with him, he will be at a Prem/upeer champ club for sure along with a lot of names on those lists - quite deceiving really as many (like Fryatt too) will probably end up staying at their clubs.

PFA transfer list: http://www.thepfa.com/transferlist

One or two decent names on their list at the moment.

How big is this kid's head?!

His first name is Treyvond, is Treyvond, is Treyvond,
His second name is Anderson, is Anderson, is Anderson
And he's got a head, a head, a head
And it's fucking massive, massive, massive...
