I'm astounded they think they can buy their way out of the embargoes. If they can, then it's a blueprint for every other club to take the piss.
Their very real problem is that anyone buying them has got to accept that they will lose money for a good few years as the embargoes will prevent manoeuvrability. It doesn't matter how much you've got, if you can't spend it, then you've got to suck up being in L1 for a bit.
I suspect some of the names linked won't want a medium/long term project, so will seek ownership elsewhere.
Make no mistake, with a poor academy, a ramshackle ground, poor training facilities as well as a squad which is close to worthless, someone is going to have to put a ton of money in, over a long period just to get them at the same level as most of the Championship clubs, many of whom have recent EPL involvement and stadiums and training facilities to match - Leicester, Swansea, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Watford. Southampton - most have relatively new stadiums and good academies. Wednesday are miles behind.
They really don't realise how much shit they are in. Mike Ashley is a trader, he'll only get involved if he can turn the asset around quickly which is what he did at Newcastle and more recently Coventry. Both had good stadiums though. Personally I can't see him going for it - particularly with the sh1t he got when he owned Newcastle. He only owned the ground at Coventry, and just sold that back to them for £40m - presumably at a profit?
I can't see what he would get out of owning a team he can't turn round quickly, who play in a ground that wants demolishing.
