7/9 changes for sky are away. And one of the home games is around the Xmas period.

This round of changes is basically all away games TBF so not that bad for the first half of the season

So you're saying, let's say for arguments sake we get 3,000 per away game.
Again, for arguments sake, let's say a "vast" majority is 1,800 (60%) it's more than that, but I'm being conservative.

You're saying that if a game moves from 3pm, to 12:30pm, up to 1,800 (more!?) can't go?

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely nonsense.

Sounds to me like an opportunity for those on lower volumes of Loyalty points to get to an away game. Assuming the theory is true - which I don`t for a second think it is.

It's shocking when games are rearranged and there's no realistic train home. I get that.

But the theory that we have thousands of fans that can't make 1230pm but can make 3pm is hilarious

That's what annoys me. I don't mind 12:30 or 5:30 unless it's on a traditional family day like boxing day or Easter.

But 8PMs means I miss the 10 o'clock bus and have to wait until 11,

7:45 for me please.
 
Itv showing our game Vs the pigs as part of the EFL deal.

Hopefully it will be a beat down so brutal people complain about it being shown before the watershed

I can see what you mean in some ways especially that without the influx of Sky TV money football in this country wouldn't be what it is now and the fact Sky TV has been changing fixtures for a while now however on the flip side if you were booking and planning most other activities or events you would expect them to be at the time stated for example you book a holiday and the flight say 3pm on a Saturday you would be fuming if that was moved to Monday at 8pm.
 
I don mind the New Year’s Day at 5:30, more time to sober up from the night before

I see your point but flight times change frequently and quite often without 5 months notice.

They do take notice. They employ a guy to turn down the volume on the fans if there's anything that doesn't fit the agenda.

Just reading this would give Sky 73% of UK TV advertising coverage which usually would be thrown out by monopolies commission but in this instance Sky maybe seen as a white knight rescuing a doomed business.

I think this is more to do with Comcast looking to protect the future of Sky should the Premier League ever decide to set up their own streaming channel and leave the broadcasters. Currently Sky sports subscribers (let’s face it football subscribers) bring in 75 % of Sky’s revenue.

Should the Premier league set up a world wide streaming channel and charge say £20 a month with the currently estimated 2 billion fans around the world the league has they would make an absolute killing.

If Sky sports went under however, which it would almost certainly do if they lost the Premier league, it would be a financial disaster for other sports in this country who rely on Sky TV Money to keep going particularly sports like Cricket and Rugby League.

Agree, but most of the stuff on Sky sports personally I never watch, women's sport, rugby league, cricket, NFL etc so wouldn't miss it, even football isn't worth watching half the time.
 
Two of United's home fixtures next February have been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports Football, including the steel city derby at Bramall Lane.

Firstly, the fixture against Middlesbrough, originally scheduled for Saturday 7th February, will now take place on Monday 9th February, kick-off 8pm.

Then, the return clash against Sheffield Wednesday at S2 will be played on Sunday 22nd February, kicking off at 12noon

Monday 8pm is the absolute Alan of the possible kick off times

That's just simply not true.

Exert from a piece in the FT re their financial results last year.

Overall, the UK-based group reported flat revenues of £10.2bn in 2023. Its direct-to-consumer business, which includes mobile, broadband and streaming, reported £8.5bn in revenues, 1.5 per cent higher than the year before.

Direct to Consumer revenues for the year were £8.5B which would mean if your 75% figure was correct then Sports subscribers would account for £6.375B of that. At an average cost of about £30 extra for Sports that would mean they had 212.5m Sports subscribers.
