Is it me or are we accepting our licence fees are paid to a self professed pig? Why? BBC rules state they must be impartial.im tired of hearing from him. Maybe a few actually complain as I have. He’s so biased it’s untrue
Aye but when these posts and threads come up about Radio Sheffield presenters (normally him in fairness) I suppose although we obviously think Sheffield's the centre of the Earth it isn't really is it? So local sports presenters are either going to support/be from somewhere else, have zero loyalty and move on, or they'll be from round here and support the Blades or them lot. By all accounts Paul Walker supported us, this bloke supports them.

To be honest though, I'm quite jealous if the thing that keeps anyone awake at night is what team a local radio sports presenter supports, they can't have much else to worry about in their lives, fair play.

I cancelled my Sky subscription in 2010 when I realised that Jeff Stelling was a Hartlepool fan. He was even celebrating on-air when they won. So I sent Sky a strongly-worded letter and also contacted my MP.

Danny Baker's phone-in show on Radio Five was also full of references to his favourite club, Millwall. I sent a letter to the BBC threatening to stop listening but never received a reply. Presenters showing personal bias isn't something they should be getting away with in this day and age.

(I don't mind that Blades bloke on Brooklands radio though some of the music he plays is utter shite)

I stopped watching Match of the Day when George Lineker kept hinting at the fact he was a Leicester City fan but never explicitly admitted it live on air.

I told everyone I know to stop watching it as well.

Don't mention the Sly Foxes to me 🤬

Bent all the rules to get to the PL , won the PL...

Now they're back where they belong but where's their punishment up to ?

Give it a rest. BBC's 'impartiality' rules apply to news and current affairs only. Remember when Paul Walker was there and screaming like a fan during the Triple Assault season cup runs, we all loved a bit of that and don't remember Wendies getting their knickers in a twist about him.

I re-read twice and still not sure eif this is a joke??

Don't pay your licence fee.

It really doesn't matter ffs 🤣

And if what happened to the pigs had happened to us, we'd be expecting the same praise by the media. I mean granted, we wouldn't have taken it laying down like them for so long, but that's another point.

I actually rate Staton as a presenter and commentator, but he has been insufferable lately with this Wednesday saga, especially now the bidders are supposedly coming in. He looks and sounds like he is being exotically massaged whenever the subject comes up and then (inevitably) takes over the whole show.

I don’t particularly care for him, but I’ve usually found him to be knowledgable about both clubs and he also gets called out by the pig fans for being too balanced.

If the only thing that you watch / listen to on bbc is radio Sheffield / football heaven then it’s probably worth you cancelling and stopping listening. If not then guess what the bbc is varied and doesn’t just broadcast to blades fans.

Im not sure if you’re serious? I know this type of thing enrages some people. Bizarrely. I love the fact that the presenters have personalities and open themselves up for stick by revealing who they follow
