He came across very well in his interview and whatever views we all have, I know we will give him our full support.

Thumbs up from me. Our aim is to get out of this division, and while it would be nice for all our signings to players who we believe have the potential to go on and perform in the championship, we need some players who are proven at this level.

JCR to me is that, by all reports played well in a struggling county team and has always played well against us, and brings pace to the side which we don't have in abundance.

If the two lads signing today are any indication, I think we are in for a very positive pre-season, can't wait for next season!!

If talk counts for anything he gets a thumb's up. Listening to the way he responded in the interview, calling us the biggest club in the area, how could I not warm to him? Proof of the pudding as they say, but maybe he'll bring what Brandy only hinted at? Time will tell, but let's get behind the guy and see if he delivers for us.

I don't see why his age is a problem. He's had a solid career which suggests he's not going to have the attitude problem the likes of Brandy/Cofie etc have had when it's not all going their way.

County supporters seem to think that him and Sheehan were/are their two most irreplacable players. Fair enough.... but still.

What about JCR on the wing and Flynnaldo doing the Brayford thing at right back? Worth a try?

If this means JCR in and Brandy out, we are much stronger with better character. He scores and creates more. He'll also work hard when we need to dig in.

Should be a good man to have in the break when we go on the defensive, can't see a problem...

Great signing for me, always causes us problems. Gives us an extra option going forward, the obvious comparison is brandy but I think there temperament couldn't be more different. When I have watched him I have always been surprised he doesn't play at a higher level, I have heard he is a little bit inconsistent but wasn't Murphy and Flynn before Clough got hold of them.

One of those players that always played well against us. Then again so did David Johnson... Let's see. Not a bad signing IMO, murph and Flynn desperately needed competition.

Seen JCR play several times over the years and always seen him as a threat whenever he played against us. However..... last time he was here (Notts Co first game last season?) I was a bit disappointed in him, his attitude was a bit iffy and he was distinctly ordinary and I thought he was on his way down. But listening to his interview it appears he had a good season once Derry got hold of him and started to do the things he's done so well in the Championship and 3rd tier.
I think a fit, committed Campbell-Ryce is a definite asset and Clough obviously has faith in him.
My only slight issues are that he can be a moody fucker and prone to histrionics on occasions but I'll put up with that if he provides more penetration and supply down the flanks.(He's not a bad defender too!)

We need 25 more goals to aim for automatic promotion. He got 2 last season.

No objection to this per se, but if we're going to sign midfielders who can't do better than that we really need 2 forwards who can find the net regularly...

I think he'll do well for us actually..and at the right price ;) means two years isn't so bad!

The squad grows stronger!

Is it confirmed? So weird, I was thinking this very thing this afternoon.

Anyone who went to Notts County away would be in favour of this. He absolutely rinsed us.
True, he was the only reason County won that day, gave us a right pasting, well Matt Hill anyway, ok as back up to Flynn

Strange one to me but has been a good player at lower league 1level .Lets be honest if we want automatic promotion though we don't need back up players,we need starters who can relegate players down to back up level

Brandy 25 years old,JCR 31 years old,who would you say has more potential at our existing level and the championship, which is where we are trying to get to i think?

Our first eleven isn't good enough at the minute for us to be signing back up players and get into the automatic spots.Minus brayford, coady and freeman we are very short indeed and the two players we signed today don't even cover any of these positions although we all know we need strikers, just goes to show how big the task is to get our squad challenging for the playoffs, never mind automatic.I'm sure our man will get it right IF given the right resources and that if is gigantic by the way.

Good luck though JCR i will support you no matter what.

Very underwhelming. When is the bog roll prince going to actually spend some money. These are McCabe era signings...

Everyone talking about back up for Flynn but has anyone thought maybe JCR playing wide left and using murphy as the fast central attacker so many have mentioned?
Personally I think could be an integral part of our attack for his two year tenure, switching with Flynn or even murphy up the middle
A good signing IMHO but as we all know, nothing is certain, but if clough thinks he can do a job maybe we should not worry so much so early, give him a ill less pressure.
Here's hoping
