Sack him now

5 wins in the last 16 he's managed, done nothing to turn this shit show of a season around lost 3 of his 4 home games, only reason we employ him is because we are contractually obliged to same as gracia at Watford
Ok I’ll bite.

So we sack our second manager of the season who are we replacing him with?

Our team is shite. No goals, creativity, spine, guts or confidence. I don’t think prime red nose Ferguson could turn this round, so who would you bring in to cause a miracle and how many games would they get to do this before they also get sacked?

We do score goals, scored a goal or more over the last few games.

Just in that same time our defence has decided they don't fancy defending.

Whilst I do not think that at the moment he should be sacked I do not think he is making a good fist of it and making the best use of the available players.
CB at RB ?
Only two midfield players?
Campbell on his own up front ?
Limited change of personnel and tactics?

We’re safe in Chris’s hands. Aren’t we?

And if the 💯 owners sack him the 💯 owners will be picking the new manager.

Track record so far is hiring Wilder, sacking Wilder, hiring Sellés, sacking Sellés and hiring Wilder.
It's fucking laughable isn't it.
We're laughing at Wendy but right now I'd actually rather be in their shoes, as they know it's gonna be a 5-10yr turnaround for them.
We have no idea what the fuck we're doing.
We could actually end up in div 4 again if this shit isn't addressed soon.
I genuinely feel.our ride of Sheffield No1 club is over. And they're in total meltdown.
Wtf has happened to us?

Nathan Jones, Gary O’Neil… there’s plenty of interesting options, doesn’t always have to be a Blade 😡

Actually looking for an alternative to Wilder would’ve been a start!

We got battered at Ipswich and then rumours began immediately that Wilder was returning, so it’s clear there was zero recruitment process followed.

How do we know we got the best manager available when we didn’t even consider anyone else? It’s complete incompetence from the owners!

One of the many managers out of work, or even a manager that’s in a position now. There’s plenty to look at. Let’s actually interview candidates rather than having the stupidest approach.

How dare you there are plenty of options left for us.
Brian Deane
Nick Montgomery
Robert Page
Even Heckingbottom has only managed us once.
But the favourite would surely be Sharp. He is coming to the end of his career, but more importantly he has that main characteristic that all the top professional clubs look for in a manager

The way we are playing, the way we are being run.

I’m not sure I get the club any more

2 UP FRONT, 4 IN MIDFIELD, 4 DEFENDERS......STOP OVER FKIN COMPLICATING IT...BASICS, BASICS, BASICS
i agree might as well just play a basic 442 certainly at home at least lets give it a go carry on like this and were heading for league 1 plenty of time left yet but wilder really has to stop making excuses pick the right players in the right system and get us up that table

Shopped around before hiring Sellés a…………. Oh, ‘ang on

The problem for Wilder is he hasn't got any right players to pick, he's juggling diarrhoea .

Wilder and his followers are blaming the signings like Rachel Thieves is blaming the black hole while it's getting worse, why doesn't he revert to the players/team that he had here before and know the way he wants to play and can quickly adapt back?, ok, Tanganga and Mee are new , but might as well do it cause nothing else is working, no excuses then

Cooper
Seriki, Tanganga, Mee, Burrows
Peck, Davies
Brooks, OHare, Hamer
Campbell

Thanks for the offer but nah, think I'll pass this time 👍

I wouldn't have sacked him in the summer but I don't think bringing him back was the right thing to do. Last season restored his general reputation after it'd taken a bit of a battering in his past few jobs and he could have gone on to have a fresh opportunity somewhere else.

Bringing him back just increases the problems that were already present before he left. Some fans never wanted him back after the way he left the first time. Some fans think he can do no wrong because of what he achieved in the first 85% of his first time. The reasons the owners got rid of him still exist. In his absence the squad had changed.

The sensible thing would have been if just picked up where he left off last season but with Mee and Tanganga in central defence and Soumare rather than Vini in midfield. The rest of the team could have been the same as it was at points last year (Seriki right back, Brooks right wing, Gus left wing), then work from there, incorporating the other new players as appropriate. Instead we never did that, have messed around with three or four at the back, have a revolving door of central midfielders around the undroppable Peck, never play a right back and lost Hamer (although with how he was playing it wasn't much of a loss).

Having not really hit the ground running, whatever happens now he's kind of on a hiding to nothing, some fans will blindly follow him no matter what and absolve him of all criticism. Some fans who didn't want him back before really don't want him now. Some think he's a dinosaur for playing one up front (even though most teams play that way), others think we're overexposed with only two in midfield, while others want an old-fashioned 4-4-2 (which by design only has two in central midfield).

The one thing that has improved since Selles is that they actually play as a team most of the time, getting close to each other and stringing together a few passes on occasion, the very soft centre and lack of threat in the opposition box remains and needs fixing before anything really positive can come from this.

Despite that, sacking him again now achieves nothing unless it has a plan behind it. The owners need someone with a clue about football in charge rather than Bettis, do a proper appraisal of what's required in the summer and change manager properly then if that's what's required.

It might not be pretty but Wilder should be able to limp us to safety, just needs to get his head out of his arse and get the basics right. A good stuffing of Wednesday might help but we should be aiming for six points before even thinking of that. If we ever get some kind of momentum, he might even win over some of the doubters, but after a positive two and almost a half games, yesterday was back to the worst he has to offer.

We have the worst attack in the league, same as our fowl neighbours who can't afford to pay any of their staff.

I agree our defence is dire as well though.

Basically we are crap at every aspect of football.

An alternative like Selles?

Wilder may not be the answer, but my worry is that we think sacking managers will be a magic wand to improve everything. We have had 2 managers so far this season and been appalling under both. What if the issue is the players?

There is a reason many managers are out of work.

I don't believe it has to be a blade either, we tried a non blade in Selles and how did that work out?

We have tried 2 managers this season and can't change the squad till Jan.
What if the players are the problem rather than the manager?
