To all the Ruben Selles "Haters" who took great delight in quoting he lost his first game at Real Zaragoza, you must all be gutted with him having won a tough, unexpected away game. It would have been half decent if you could have eaten humble pie to quote this. The hatred from many of you towards Ruben Selles just because your sweetheart darling manager had been sacked was appalling, imagine that personal abuse to yourself.
Many well respected people in the football world as well as certain members on this forum stated quite correctly that the amount of games Selles was given to implement his style with his new signings was not enough. This is endorsed by the fact that the likes of Will Still etc/ are still in a job.
What it also confirms is that Bettis used the Ipswich game as the perfect earliest opportunity to tell the owner's to remove Selles, and advise them to get his "BIG BUDDY" back in charge.

No one hated him, he was just absolutely abysmal as a manager for SUFC.

I wanted a change when Wilder left however i was never expecting what we all saw first 6 games or so. Selles was completely out of his depth please tell me what his plan was? and the damage that was done to the football club. May i remind you the other lot in S6 had more points than us under his tenure. Thats as damaging as an 0-8 home thumping in the prem. Lovely bloke but clueless.

No big issue with Selles. Expected players to do just above the basic requirements. 🤷

And he walked away from the car crash without a scratch and with a fist full of dollars....fuck off and don't come back ever you useless Aardvark turd..

Absolutely. If anyone said I was a yes man appointed by a clueless board, that couldn't solve the centre half issue, seemed to lack a definitive gameplan, couldn't motivate the side and had no idea how to attack, I'd think "Tha wot pal, I'm just eating me sandwich".

To be fair it was nothing personal towards him, the results were bloody awful but the way we played was the nail in the coffin. I wish him all the best for his future, thankfully its not with us.

They beat a team from the lower reaches ofcsegunda group 2 which is the 4th tier of Spanish football, effectively similar to united winning away at Harrogate or Barrow

Wouldn't normally bump up a troll post by a Wednesday fan

Lost his first three games in the league.

You have to wonder if he is going to be sacked three times in one year.
Poor him. Three pay offs in a season.

Even after all his failures, he's probably still on about 3,000,000 pesetas a year, and as much chorizo as he can eat on Zaragoza expenses!

Am i wrong in thinking Sellers came off our payrole when going to Zarogoza .The americans will be happy with that

He might have. It is very common for contracts to say payment ceases when the manager gets a new job, though the term is a matter of negotiation.

Meanwhile Danny Rohl has won 3 lost 3 at Rangers.

Pretty sure he did yes, it happens in most cases with manager as the payroll is their fallback plan if they lose their job.

That's why a lot of them tend to take a few months off before getting a new job, they're being paid to sit at home.

Hopefully no lump sum to compensate being sacked.Gardening leave seems to be the way now.
