Jairo was one of those players who looked quality on the ball, yet never really looked comfortable with the pace of Premier League football.

Yet he was with us for years, did a professional job as a squad player, and never seemed to complain.

He's one of those players who left on good terms at the end of their contract - we were sorry to see him go on a personal level, and he had a good farewell in front of the fans, but the harsh reality is we had better players.

At the very least, he should bring ability on the ball and experience to the team. Will be interesting to see how he handles the more chaotic and physical elements of a Championship scrap, though.

Think that was the role that CW envisages for Tom Davies. Problem is, he just cant stay fit and everytime he comes back its just a small wait until he is injured again. Maybe CW has finally realiswd that we cannot be relying on TD as his body just isnt up to it now. I shudder to think how much in wages hes cost us. But back to Jairo, thought he did well and looked comfortable in the role we used him in today. Get him match fit and he is a useful playing asset. As far TD, use him sparingly when fit, release in June.

Was it Giddings? He always gets stuff wrong whenever I’ve heard him, as well as rambling on nonsensically about random things. Unpopular opinion but I actually think Staton is better.

Think this is one of the gambles that will actually work. It's very good that he's already played 40 minutes so shortly after signing. He should be ready to start shortly. He'll be a clear upgrade on anything else in there

Ideally we'll have one of him or Davies available at any given time

Don't think we should give up on Soumaré though
