I’m sure other countries just use different metaphors for the same thing. It’s about having people around you that can be relied on when things get tough. That’s pretty universal, I’d say.

Not when I was in the Army, it wasnt. Nearly every one who I came in to contact with when serving overseas were always mightily impressed with the pluck and stubbornness of the British 'fuck you' spirit when it was needed. No one was laughing when things got a bit warm, and the British had the FY attitude (British Bulldog spirit) when it was needed.

Saw a documentary about Afghan, us and yanks were in a fire fight, yanks were shouting and stressing, then one been interviewed said

‘we’re in a firefight for our lives, I look over and 2 brits have their mess tins out brewing up, drank up then started fighting again, fuckin mental’

To me, each game the fans have backed the team.

If any of the players are on here looking for validation then that is a worry in itself.

Moan on the forum but support at the game.

Otherwise what? Blind optimism after losing 8 out of 9 league games with a wage bill sitting top 6 easy.
