As I said on the previous post about Hill, I think it's the right decision. But he's always given his best and for that I wish him well. I'm sure we'll see him again next season.

Met him three times this season, easily one of the nicest blokes in football. We all know his limitations on the pitch, but always gave his all. Off the pitch, he'll have been a big character in the dressing room and a model professional for the younger lads to look up to. Will be missed in that respect.
 
Will be missed I feel, can't help but think of the Oldham game resulting in is having no defenders. Clough must be confident of getting a few in, we're starting to look very light at the back now.
 
Great servant to the club.
IMO he should have been Harrys partner this season.
Great aerial ability for his size and quicker than Collins.
Poor distribution let him down, especially when he had time to think!.

He was useful backup for Harry and Collins, but I think a few people are being fairly harsh on the latter recently. He was a key part of that excellent run of clean sheets we had after all.
 
sad to see him go in a way, really tried hard, nice guy, v flexible and never moaned. but we really need to be looking for better players if we're gonna get out of this cack division.

Yes houso,collins was having to get maguire out of the shit numerous times in the first half of the season,how anybody can criticize him before some of the others,just in that first half of the season alone ,beggers belief really.How many clean sheets and how many goals conceded.o_O

Was not meant as a criticism of Collins. This season was easily his best in a Blades shirt and he deserves credit for the part he played. I thought the number of clean sheets we kept was due to a well organised team effort and Matt could have done a job at CH.

Rumour I heard was that NC wants 5 strikers in the squad next season

Depending upon whether he classes Baxter as a striker and whoever he keeps from the above list will determine how many he has to bring in if the above is true that is.

I thought he would be released when he came on as sub on Saturday, I thought Nigel was giving him a run out in front of the fans as that would be his last game
Top professional always clapped the Blades fans even though at times wed not played well

Just what I thought, PV. I also picked up on a 'farewell' tone by Gary Sinclair when he announced Coady & Brayford before the kick off. Hope I was wrong...
 
I agree it's the right decision, but I think that he's been exactly the type of player we needed this year. He never let his head go down, and he's probably the best 'talker' at the club in terms of communication on the pitch. He's always helping out the younger players, and wants the absolute best for the team/club rather than just himself. I hope he goes on to do well wherever he goes (but not against us).
 
He was brilliant filling in at CB when asked to. If only he could make better passes we would have kept him. Nice bloke,true pro, worked hard for us. All the best Mr Hill.
 
As a left back I think we all noticed he was past it in the play off semi last year away at Yeovil. But as most of the comments above as a person you cant take anything away from him.

Next season we are going for promotion and looking to build a team that would not only compete in League One but hopefully like Southampton/ Norwich a team that would be up there in the Championship the year after. I think we will see a lot of the 'Dead wood' moving on, fingers crossed its going to be an exciting summer for us blades!

Yes, he's under contract. I suspect he will be sold or potentially swapped for someone Cloughie wants.

Of course, if this doesn't happen, he'll report back for training and I guess if he shows the right attitude he could stay.

His only other option if he wants to go would be to negotiate a release but I can;t see us paying him to go.
