Officials were shocking, but we showed signs of improvement, and there was definitely passion there.

We didn't lose this game because of the referee.. over 90 minutesm Southamton were the better team. We didn;t know how to protect the lead. Just before h/t, they miss a pen, within 15 minites of restart we are 2-1 down.

We should have been able to see this game off at 1-0 but we couldn't do it as a team.... There is still an overall lack of passion and energy in this team.

Its a relegation fight this season. We should be strong enough to stay up but I am so sad we are talking in relegation terms....

Blowing last season and turning out crap like this has ended that and, unless he finally manages to turn water into Peroni, akin to the actual Messiah, I'd suggest the idea is now beyond ridiculous.

The Wilder crew need to leave 2018, 2019 etc and join the current day.

He had a very good spell with a specific group of players who had a special skill set to play a certain way. But that was over 5 years ago.

He failed at Watford and Boro. He failed last season not getting autos and bottling playoffs. Most of these players are his.

For all these saying ‘muh 92 points’ why did no other club pick him up after he was sacked?

I think we looked much better tonight, well first half in particular.

When we keep hold of the ball and move it around we look ok, without Davies we don’t really have much of a threat in the final third tho.

Hamer was a passenger. As much as I love him, how often does he actually show up?
Same with ohare, I’m a big fan of his but he only shoots if he literally has to and just gets brushed off by bigger opppenents.

Not sure what I expected from Ogbene to be honest but I hoped he would be a proper winger who got to the byline and got the ball into the box?

Once again we can’t cope with set pieces of a high press. Stewart’s goal was a great strike but he was given far too much room to shoot.

We also had two glorious chances to score second half and really should have done.

To top it all off, the referee was genuinely one of the worst I have seen for a long time. Seemed to blow for literally any contact first half. Then second half was horrendously inconsistent. To disallow the goal for what cannon did was utterly bizarre considering what he ‘ignored’ by defenders previously.

On the whole I expected us to lose before the game and it was akin to many performances last season.

I swear a pen is 0.85 xg and that was completely avoidable (granted we didn't avoid it) but it was a tight game decided by a worldie strike

They realised that our midfield were statues so closed our defenders down who were rushed and resorted to long balls up to Campbell who doesn't even challenge for them.

Everyone does this to us now, and our reaction is not to change shape or tactics just to swap like for like players.

It's so frustrating, Wilder must have a few plans up his sleeve to address this.

The refereeing decision is what happens to teams that get relegated. It’s been some steep downhill after that VAR decision.

None of us on here have any idea on players fitness and availability. I think we all were surprised Davies started and lasted as long as he did

After a good opening 30 minutes it all went pear shaped not helped by the managers indiscipline. Sick of saying it but Hamer Peck and COH don't work in midfield. COH better of the 3 but Southampton were much the better team second half. All the good work from Saturday was lost in the first 15 minutes after half time. Seemed the players looked lost without CW on the sidelines. Calls into question the ability of the coaching staff to step up when the managers not around. Where we go from here is anybody's guess. The mentality of the players is increasingly fragile when dealing with adversity. Once the Saints equalised there was only 1 winner. The manager has a lot to do to turn this sinking ship around. Addressing what position Hamer plays has to be a priority because he just drifts around aimlessly at the moment.
