Manor Solomon

Politics impacts on this signing (see what happened at Leeds for further details) and some things are more important to just pretend it's all about footballing ability.
But this thread is not the place for that discussion. Use relevant areas to discuss. If I'm interested in what you say, I will go to the new thread and discuss.

In every other rumour thread, absolutely.

But in this one? No, we can't.

This is probably the most political signing we could make right now, people will want to have their opinion on it.
Sorry diagree. This thread is about signing a right winger from Spurs.

The political debate you say around the player has deviated even off that topic.

The football world has people of all sexualities, political view points and the whole spectrum of everything else. Lets stick to football.

I don’t know what happened at Leeds other than that they got promoted. Surely if we sign him it’s because we want similar.

The Chong signing makes this one more unlikely, no? Can't see us signing both although I would be pleasantly surprised.

Perhaps you don't want to know. I'd be surprised if any football club signs anyone if they don't think it'll improve their performance.
Doesn't mean there aren't very valid arguments against signing him.

It's entirely relevant. It's a thread about a potential signing with fans having the freedom to say why we shouldn't sign him.
Trying to sideline that is ironically part of why Israel goes relatively unchallenged - it's something we just don't or don't want to talk about.

Thought he's a left winger? So seems odd with Barry already here?

top top player would be a great addition, so as long as the other bits don't get in the way of his football, happy days

Most people of this football section of a football forum don't want to talk about it here no.

Would improve us ten fold, 100% hoping this happens. Would have put good money on Leeds signing him this summer, but Spurs wanted to take a look at him in pre season and I guess Leeds couldn't afford to wait and chose to sign others.

This would an absolute game changer.

If it's doable it could be the difference between top 6 (or even higher) and mid-table.

He created so many chances for Leeds last season, he was literally on fire and was so quick and direct.

Everything crossed (he'll likely go back to Dirties though I'm guessing)

If he was literally on fire his injury record is outstanding!

Be an amazing signing.

To be expected that the usual crowd who try and find a negative in everything the club do will be all over it, and let's be honest, a few of the farther left will no doubt have their say. We have one poster who admitted that they hated all Israelis and got little push back on his comment.

For me, at this point based on the evidence, or more to the point lack of it, he's just a foreign footballer who can't help his nationality plying his trade and will get my full support if he pulls on the red and white stripes.

Saddo journos and the professionally offended will try to cause shit as usual but hopefully unless he says or does something that would bring the club into disrepute, he should be allowed to play here or anywhere else.

FWIW I have the same view of any Russian players who would already have been based here before they invaded Ukraine.

I have my own personal views on what’s happening but I have zero interest in judging Manor Solomon based on his. As an Israeli, I would expect him to have strong views, and he is entitled to them. Frankly I couldn’t care less what he thinks. Particularly considering his views are so hard to find you need to go digging for screenshots of a Instagram story which no longer exists. If he joins, I’ll judge him based on what he does on the pitch and brings to the team.
Trust me if he signs Porktalk will find them then que "Classy Club" comments.

He's a footballer, he doesn't make Israeli foreign policy decisions. He will feel strongly about the fact his country was targeted in October, doesn't mean he agrees with the genocide his country is currently committing.

On top of that, the person has indicated his support for Israel's actions.

Have you forgotten what happened on October 7th
Hamas knew exactly what would happen when they decided on their actions that day, they still have hostages
If you poke the bear dont be surprised if it reacts
