Thomas while good in the air, his ground defending stats are below par. Tackles (29th pct), interceptions (34th pct), and Tkl+Int (26th pct) are on the low side for CBs; also the % of dribblers tackled sits below average at around the 40th pct.

Why a club of this size, hasn’t attracted proper investment, with owners with big ambitions is beyond me, is it us the supporters, that are too small minded and don’t shout what amazing potential we have…

He's pretty good in the air though and his blocking and clearance stats are decent. So that should at least make us less vulnerable from crosses.

I think with our system, his bomb-scare passing would be a real issue. If teams turn us over high up the pitch after a sloppy pass, we're screwed.

I have wanted us to sign Cooper for years. If for no other reason than to stop him scoring against us.

Yeah I think that's true.

The Wilder sacking also gave ammunition to those who wanted it, should we not hit the ground running this season, and the last couple of weeks in particular have portrayed the ownership as being (at best) disorganised and simply not prepared. That might still be the case a couple of weeks from now, we'll see I suppose.

But as things stand, it is still early days and ultimately just a bad start. I have seen more of these than good starts following this club, I am pretty fucking certain of that.

So whilst we might not yet be getting the oomph signings we had hoped for. A few solid Championship players through the door might at least settle some nerves, and give Selles a chance.

We still have a couple of special players at this level with Hamer and Campell, with the likes of O'Hare, Burrows, Barrie and Brooks who are capable of sprinkling a bit of magic too. Sort the foundations out, and it's still looking like a really good squad.

I did hear that selles wanted a championship proven defender but I didn’t have it confirmed by usual source so didn’t post. Good news is he wants to come bad news Coventry are reluctant to let him go although once players head is turned then it’s usually a matter off time price a bit steep for me though but like I said there’s money there no matter what people say. I think there team announcement will be interesting for their early kick off vs Derby.

The only gripe I have is that our purchase of Thomas might facilitate their purchase of Hughes or Doyle, whom I would prefer us to sign.

I’d be shocked if Iroegbunam doesn’t come and I think he will be key for us. Hopeful on Seol and also trying for a championship attacker/striker which will be exciting if we can pull it off. Only unproven player will be Zatterstrom but it’s not the same as the AI signings hes here for the first team and will be here to back up the other new defender and Bindon somethings happened (selles comments have helped I think) and there seems to be a sense of urgency in last 24 hours thankfully.
