Very tough call, quite a few clubs who finished below us have improved and invested.

However, are Ipswich/Leicester/Southampton much better than Leeds-Burnley ?

Have we lost a huge amount of quality?

I think we should be pushing for top 4 again and it will be more exciting.

Two teams to get at least 100 points each like last season? Wouldnt surprise me and not good for the Championship division which used to be more competitive and exciting.

Think it will be a more exciting season for us. We’ll score more, leak more & accrue less points though. Not sure we’re good enough for top 6 without DM & CB additions.

I really dont know, up to now we've only lost souza from a team that got 92 points, we've picked up a couple of players that looked decent in the pre season games, with the unending expectation of signing this Senegalese lad, things look good, but the doubt is with the new manager and the new pattern of play, can the team adapt? Is the manager any good when the pressure starts?

Don't forget the quality loan players we've lost and not replaced.

Tick tock, no new EXPERIENCED CB coming in and we’re STILL relying on bomb scare when setting up in a more attack minded approach, its like fixing one wheel put puncturing another……..

Selles has to sort out the defence or we’re not doing anything again this season.

I always want us to win, but a few goals against should ram this issues home hopefully in time to get it sorted.
Been Tick Tock & relying on bomb-scare Robbo since the minute Souttar went down injured last Christmas. This is just plain negligence on the Manager/Owner’s

Concerned now that Anel may be going. Got to get the deal to replace Souza done. Not too bothered about Moore going and wouldn't oblect to McBurnie coming back as a replacement. Still need at leat one centre back and probably a right back. got to keep Cooper and Peck. Hoping that One kicks on this season

Have we changed the negotiating team at United or is it just we aren't t spending any money period this pre-season?

I thought with Moore going we would have a solid agreement lined up to replace him, but there's not even any whipsers of a replacement striker, it isnt McBurnie now he's gone elsewhere.

I wasnt initially concerned but its gone so quite I cant even joke about it anymore, strange times.

I was feeling optimistic but having read all the recent doom and gloom posts they've brought me down and now I hate football. I'm going to take up croquet when matches are playing instead. Who wants a hat?

JRS looked good when he first came but his impact diminished as the season wore on, holding hardly played, BBD wasn't the player we had the season before, gilchrist was injured for the last 3 months and imo didn't pull any trees up before that, I think Choudhury played well, and Souttar was a massive miss, I'm convinced if he'd stayed fit we'd have gone up automatically. We've now got 2 wingers 1 permanent and 1 loan, so JRS and BBD won't be missed, the problem areas, as has been highlighted in the pre season games, is defence, we need a right back and 1 maybe 2 centre halves, and the defensive midfielder that we've been waiting for.
What my fear is, is that although we look OK, apart from defence, is that we lose a couple of first teamers a week before the window shuts, particularly hamer and Ahmedodzic in areas where we are weak already

Don’t forget the game changer in Harry Clarke

I had made a decision to watch the play off final in full prior to the start of the new season , in a relaxed calm manner knowing we had lost , this i did last night , After the disappointment of the actual game it took me a couple of days before I was optimistic that we would be good enough to actually win the league this season with Wilder carrying on the rebuild began at the start of the 2024/25 season , So I was firmly in the camp of the decision to replace one of ( if not the) best managers we have had with a relatively rookie manager was bordering on ridiculous,, but after accepting there no going back and listening to Sellés he definitely talks a good game . I hope the promise of all out attack does come to fruition and the defence is strong enough to cope with breakaways , Having watched the play off final again last night calmly I surprised myself about how much on top we were , Sunderland definitely got away with one , I then look not only at the 92 points won , but also the fact that Bristol City who were good enough and successful enough to reach the Play offs finished 22 points behind us , if you then take 22 points off Bristol City total they would have been relegated , highlighting how far ahead we were of our competition , so although not convinced the managerial change was necessary I do think Sellés is walking into a job with a team definitely good enough to win promotion, meaning my worry has now changed to genuine optimism

Having watched most not all of Birmingham Ipswich I was completely underwhelmed. If they are both considered favourites for promotion they must have both been having an off day. If not at least 23 other teams have a chance at going up. Honestly don't think we have anything to worry about from either of these. Would be more worried about the West Brom, Boro, Coventry's

Whilst it was short of quality it was a fast, aggressive and physical game. I think we would have been bullied by the bigger boys tonight.
