“It seems having the money, and spending it, are 2 very different things with these owners”

You indicate you want the owners to spend, in reply to an article about us not spending on Charlie Hughes. I deeply apologise if I’ve mistakenly connected the two
I do nothing of the sort Billy, I actually responded with facts, as they haven't really spent any money this window, only on Bulgarian league prospects.
In no way have I ever said we should buy Hughes, let alone pay £15m for him.

U25, aerially good, good in possession

Expensive, definitely a good chance of quick development and profit

Charlie Hughes
Matthew Pollock
Archie Brown
Lewis Gibson

Next tier down

Hayden Carter
Mark McGuinness
Luke McNally
Jordan Storey

Plenty of similar options across other nationalities but it's tough to know much about those players in terms of ability to adjust to living abroad

I Love how the owners are keeping everything close to their chests , I know it doesn’t help our nerves and the cordial relationships on here , honestly I'd like us to invest the anel money on someone like Hughes plus give someone like Egan or ben mee a 12 month contract as experienced back up ( I'm sure the young lads like baptiste and sasunakis would benefit from their experience) .

Unless there's a gold nugget that's been unearthed by the scouting team that we don't know about.

While I would generally agree about the back up options mentioned, especially Ben Mee with our new way of playing I am not sure they would work.

Selles wants to play with a high line, compress the space. I am not sure either of them would be quick enough to play that way, particularly Egan now at his age and after his bad injury.

I've already said Egan on a 12 month contract wouldn't be a bad option as a back up .
He’d be a terrible option. And we don’t need a backup. We now need a replacement for Anel as well as still needing one for Robbo. Shouldn’t be even thinking about backup options until those two holes are filled

I'm not saying sign Egan, but we do need back up and a replacement as our current back up is RND, and the other will be Robinson once we sign Anel's replacement.

I can see us trying Callum Doyle for a bit less than half that and he’s a lefty, so there’s better options in future seasons to build next to him.

I'd love our club to take a similarly resolute stance, privately ot publicly, with our key stars - Hamer and Cooper remaining, innit.

Both huge players at this level, including player of the year, 2 years remaining. Pay up or piss off.

Maybe they are doing it privately. It is quite clear that once our players get to 12 months left and are unwilling to sign again we are open to selling and appear to try to negotiate the best deal we can. In our defence, the Hull manager might have said this about Hughes but they are in the shit financially aren't they so saying stuff in the media is no good if you're making a bollocks of it in the background.

Selles said Cooper "is not leaving"

Wilder did enquire about one of the top tier but he didn't think he'd get first team football here.

I do know he would open to a move though (Only ITK about this one player, nothing else Blades related haha)

Fancy not backing yourself to dislodge JLT from the side. Given RND may well play on Saturday (if he makes it through the week and warm-up without rupturing something), you'd think Utd would be a great destination for a Prem loan CB to get game time.

That said, pairing two young, loan CBs would be far from ideal. Personally, I'd much prefer a far more experienced head (Mee, Worrall etc.) to come in. IIt sounds very Bladey but I would actually have liked Coady to rejoin before he headed to the land of sheep and crap rugby songs.
