not downbeat its a social fact , and all fa cup games attract less across the board these days , not just blades, its of more significance to us who suffered a terrible start to the season but we are the die hard 18000 , the floating fans have very different outlooks , and not just at our club , I expect us to get near or a sell out , but 5 years ago wed have sold out in a day

We would not have as we would not have had 16,000 people with over 25k loyalty points wanting to buy 2 tickets :D

Two of the £50 batch bought online with ease at 10:30 today. Simplest big-match ticket booking I've ever done - and well worth the £20 for the membership I bought last summer.

It was a joke, mate. You are Mr. Optimistic Upbeat-Blade!

There seems to be a different kind of slagging off on this board.
On other sites some slag the club off, which is ok as far as I'm concerned when they deserve it
Some slag the players off which is probably not constructive.

And then some feel the need to slag off our fans or belittle them which is unbelievable considering the crap we've been served up for our entire lives........... Not just some of our lives, ALL OF IT.

Here's some facts.
Almost half the tickets are gone already. We are getting around 8,000 less than we had for the Burnley game, which we sold out of incidentally. This game is more eagerly awaited than any of our Play Off Games which quite frankly nobody was looking forward to. The team are going into a big game with confidence instead of dread.

Why the bleedin hell wouldn't it be a sell out ?

8 x £50 for me. Just need to collect the money from mates who will now vanish into thin air at the sight of me (yes, alright, I know...) and arrange the transport now. Why is everything left to me?.....

Because your a man that is dependable , trustworthy , and as honest as the day is long .
Also nobody else could have been arsed .

no Im not optimistic , when I said after we lost 3-0 at Crewe we could still make the play offs it was based on solid reason, and probability, the fact that if we win our 2 games in hand on most we would only be a point behind posh proves theres no substitute for sound thoughtful reasoning , its a 46 game season we just started with a handicap, Weir

I expect us to get near or a sell out, but 5 years ago we'd have sold out in a day

Five years ago (2009) it was a match to decide who got in the Premier League and a first-ever visit to the new Wembley. I believe we sold out. Two years ago (2012) it was a match between two 3rd Division teams to decide who got into the Second Division. We'd been pretty average that season and, like most, I travelled in hope but no expectation. We got a very creditable 31k+.

This time, it's our third visit to Wembley in 5 years, the novelty factor has worn off, it's getting a bit expensive but I still think we'll sell out (half of our allocation gone in just 3 days).

All this talk of selling out in hours, days etc. is pure Wendy-like cobblers. If they ever get to Wembley (and we're talking JPT here), of course they'd sell out. The prospect of actually being inside Wembley for the first time is amazing. It's becoming our second home. :)

Yes, Radio Sheffield would tell us they 'could have sold their allocation 5 times over', they're 'flying in from the States, China, Mars and Pluto' but we're used to their bollocks.

the precise date is immaterial Im on about social change more than just blades fans , this is an FA cup problem overall gates arte down its b not lost its appeal to die hards , but the general public get clobbered with champions league is the zenith and sky offers la liga full timke its been down graded to 5th best or so
We will sell out as its the fa cup and we avent had our hands on it for a bit , here have a go at that word

I would if I could understand...;)

Its impossible to sell out in a day or 2 days due to the loyalty points system.
The days off mass queueing (there will be a big queue when they go on general sale) are mostly over with due to this system. It is a good system although it has its flaws

I enquired by email of the ticket office today and got a quick reply over the stated request that Blades draw membership card had
With a premium rate T/P number I could be hours getting through. Totally unsatisfactory situation in my opinion.
Has anyone else got the same problem

hi kent, hope youve managed to get through, im only 10 mins from the lane if you need some assistance from the motherland.

some reight moaners on here, i remember queuing up at 1.00am for a ticket for Blackburn away when Ewood Pk was being redeveloped.

It was the FA Cup quarter final in 93, long before the days of loyalty points, so a right free for all. Fans went from the pubs at closing time, which was 11.00pm for the youngens, as it was a freezing night the club hand handed raffle tickets out to the first 1300 who turned up, let them onto the South Stand concourse and sorted out tickets and payment while fans turning up through the night expecting the ticket office to open at 9am were left to see a hastly written note on the ticket office window informing fans of the sell out. i felt slightly pissed off but not as pissed off as those fans who returned from SOUTHAMPTON away expecting to be first in the queue only to find out the tickets had all been sold.

Went to Southampton, saw epic win. Mate drove like a mad man and pulled into car park at 8p.m. and joined the queue.

Gave a few verbal volleys to those in front about queuing so early and not having being to the game. Managed to get tickets in early hours after they opened early. Remember us all sheltering inside south stand ! Thought we'd only got 500 tics.

Happy days !!

you might be right about the actual number of tickets available, i know it wasnt many.

puts the current policy into perspective.

Might be a stupid question - will General Sale also include tickets able to be bought online?

HI Carling,
How very thoughtful and kind of you.
I am phoning first thing Saturday after 5 tickets for family who all have Blades Draw membership but not all have amassed the points required to order before which means we would not all be together. I don't think there will be a problem but strange that we cannot order on line.By its a long since I could be at the Lane in about 30 minutes.
Hope you and your family are well.
