Again? Didn’t we try this last season to be told Liverpool wanted 5000M for him?

Well considering he has spent most of last season picking splinters out of his arse, I think many clubs have told Liverpool to fuck off at their original asking price. They had him priced around £20 million in January when were last interested in loaning him. They still want £15mil now but not sure the likes of West Ham are going to pay it and they probably think they can get someone better for the money.

He is worth about £5mil to £8mil tops especially now since Liverpool barely played him last season.

I think Liverpool will get a lot more than £8M for him, young English talent always seems to go for extortionate amounts.

There is what Liverpool want for him and what clubs are prepared to pay. No one was willing to pay circa £20million last year and if they are considering loaning him back out that implies West Ham won't be coughing up the £15mil they were quoted.

He is now 22 and has lost a season of playing last year.

We’ll soon see mate.

a brilliant season in the championship (like mcatee / MGW) and his values back up above 25m.

Sending him back out on loan is a Smart Bet from Liverpool imo.

Even if he’s just decent he probably will be command fee to what they would sell for today .

Once bitten twice shy with Liverpool.

Which reminds me has Brewster got himself a gig yet? Don’t be surprised to see him rack up back at B(SS)DTBL

You’re right. We should never buy anyone from Liverpool ever again because Brewster didn’t work out.
Just like we haven’t bought anyone from Everton since they sold us the injury ravaged John Ebbrell. Errrm…
We should instead sign all of our players on a free transfer from Blackpool because Bash became such a hero.
Have I got that right? 🥳😂😂

Totally misrepresented what I’ve said. Wilder jumped in with Brewster with little or no due diligence and got it wrong. Klopp saw this nieve lower league manager coming, pulled his trousers down and spanked him.
If we do go to liverpool again for a player we should be a lot more professional with our research before committing. Morton looks like a prospect but not at any price.
So, no, you got it wrong!

He'd just scored 10 in 20 in the Championship after banging them in for Chelsea Youth, Liverpool Youth, Liverpool reserves, even scoring in Liverpool first team friendlies.

We probably paid over the odds (and obviously injuries ruined the whole thing) but there are far less sensible deals in English football history.

I agree - we took a chance and it didn’t work out. Could have been a solanke, but injuries and to be fair Brewster actual ability stopped that. He’s just not a top level striker imo.

I do think you have to be careful buying from pool they are usually pretty sharp at keeping hold of the ones that will actually make it. A lot have been sold for fair money and done naff all.

I thought it was The Prince who was pushing for Brewster but wanted him in on loan?

We got right to last day or so of window with no striker and Klopp saying no to a loan which forced the purchase?

We took a chance especially when we did not need another striker. Dig deeper you may find the reason

Would love a double deal for Morton and Ben Doak.

Every time I saw Boro last season he looked really dangerous. Suspect his next step is the PL though.

Doak has been heavily linked with Palace all summer and Forest more recently. £25 million.

He’s out of reach for us unfortunately

Doak was phenomenal for Boro. Bags of ability and pace.

It was a refreshing throwback to see a winger beating a man down the outside and getting crosses in.
I don't know why the game has abandoned it to the extent it has, it still is such an effective weapon.

There were times last season I really wanted us to stick JRS or Brooks on the left wing and try to find a different way.
