That would provide options of:
6. Souza (Peck)
8. Hamer (Davies).
I personally hope this is the plan but somehow I don’t think Wilder wants to play Hamer in a midfield two. I’m not sure why but suspect he doesn’t trust him enough defensively (to be fair he is a red card waiting to happen) and / or he believes his attacking output filter up the pitch cannot be sacrificed (I have some sympathy with this view).

I suspect Wilder wants Morton in to replace Arblaster and compete with Davies. And then has Souza or Peck for the other spot. Then he’ll use BBD, Hamer, COH, JRS, Brooks in rotation for the three attacking roles behind Moore/Campbell/AN Other

Two souzas in the double pivot would be lovely 😍. I know this season in some games he's seems to have been everywhere and this would be why there's two of them 😂.

Oops. I meant Hamer.

However, if we sign Choudhury you might get your wish. A very similar player to Souza.

Would be interesting to see how the two of them would work together. No shortage of stamina and physicality. Maybe a little lacking in ball progression and creativity, but would need the 3 in front of them to drop back and link the play.

well a souza choudray midfield 2 suggests were sticking to 4 at the back really hope we sign the forest centre back although looks like leeds the favourites for him harry darling would be a good 2nd choice

Another Liverpool are gonna play silly beggars with and stunt their development then?
Are we stunting Marsh’s development then? Did we stunt Jebbison’s by bringing him back from a successful loan and then not play him.
Every club does it, especially with players on the edge of the first team. They need them as squad fillers and don’t want to sell them for a low price in case they realise the potential

Worked in Redcar (they call it Redca), which is just outside Middlesboro, about 15 years back.

It's a bit of a seaside place (beach and amusement arcade) but makes Blackpool look posh.
My main memory of the place is almost every shop has the work "pound" or "99p" in it.
So there's loads of Poundland, pound stretcher, home bargains, 99p shop. Also loads of book keepers/ gambling places
There most upmarket shop is probably Greggs

and regards the locals, nearly everyone wears tracksuits and trainers, plenty of young girls wearing track suits pushing babies in prams.

Stayed in a bed and breakfast in Saltburn, down the coast and that was actually a nice place.
Also stayed at Yarm and that also a really nice place (quite upmarket), so there are some decent places outside Middlesboro.
I have fond memories of childhood trips to visit my great-grandma in Redcar. The lifeboat museum is home to Zetland, the world's oldest surviving lifeboat. There's also Pacitto's ice cream parlour for a lemon top.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea (to give it its full name) seems to have avoided the worst of the decline of the Victorian seaside resorts - the same decline which hit Redcar so hard - and is worth a visit, as is Guisborough as gateway to the North York Moors. Yarm is where most of the Boro players live.

Could see us going for souza choudury pivot on away games or in more tricky games ie top 6 etc and have hamer in front.

Those two to provide protection for back 4 then simple ball to hamer in front and or ohare.

And for the real tricky games such as leeds and burnley you could see a 3 of souza Davies choudhury.

Either way gives us great option of changing up formation, tactics and or competition for souza and to rotate them.

Not seen a thread on him, but under Matt Grimes it says:

As a 15-year-old he was part of St Peter's AirBadgers Ultimate Frisbee team that won the Junior National Championships for the third year in a row in 2011. He was voted the most valuable player as AirBadgers beat Brighton in the final 13–1

That’s a great chant to finish off with “you’ll never song that!” 🤣

Morton is playing today .might be worth a watch on tele
I can't see 😞 s signing him now to be honest though. Not with Choudhury signing instead, Liverpool wanting twenty million and not willing to let him go out on loan. Maybe in the summer but there's no way they'll get £20m.

The only way they get close to £20m is from a promoted club that he's been on loan with and done an amazing job with. Rotting in the reserves for 6months won't hold let alone boost his value.
The strange thing is, HC is definitely Souza cover. Or on defensive days, a partner for Souza but offering the same. He contributes very little going forward. I though the CM we were trying to replace was Blaster. Unless Wilder has seen enough in Peck and Blaster to think it's not needed. Buying Morton doesn't make sense though either, Arblaster will be back next season and hopefully back to his best. Maybe Liverpool won't loan to us because we don't want a option to buy let alone a obligation in there.

Think it might be Davies rather than Peck that he's seen enough of now. Playing constant minuets looking fitter and has premier league class.

Think if Davies was still with Everton and Morton at Liverpool now we'd probably be more excited by signing Davies with his extra experience than Morton.

How did he play today? Only caught last ten.

I didn't think he was looked anything special when at Blackburn, certainly nowhere near the price liverpool are wanting.
