I personally hope this is the plan but somehow I don’t think Wilder wants to play Hamer in a midfield two. I’m not sure why but suspect he doesn’t trust him enough defensively (to be fair he is a red card waiting to happen) and / or he believes his attacking output filter up the pitch cannot be sacrificed (I have some sympathy with this view).That would provide options of:
6. Souza (Peck)
8. Hamer (Davies).
I suspect Wilder wants Morton in to replace Arblaster and compete with Davies. And then has Souza or Peck for the other spot. Then he’ll use BBD, Hamer, COH, JRS, Brooks in rotation for the three attacking roles behind Moore/Campbell/AN Other
