Sorry to disappoint you but Rohl still is a nobody, he's been touting himself all over Europe and still no takers. No one is showing any signs of interest here either, more than likely to finish back at the rust bucket with his tail between his legs.
Rohl is a good coach that made a huge mistake when he signed a contract with a ridiculous release clause.

Still it all adds to the entertainment.

Just doing some ( lazy !!) Research on selles, looks like defensively he'll base on a triangle of 2 centre halves and a midfielder who will just screen them and breakup opposition attacks, quite happily allowing a switch between the two central midfielders allowing one to push on and support attack I can see why vini was allowed to go because we all know his final 3rd stats weren't great ? , it shows that he likes players who are comfy on the ball and will try to move it forwards as a first thought ( not sideways or backwards)
I get the feeling we may see gus central with 2 wingers behind a central striker for some games

Ever thought that Vini wanted to go? We don't know that his agent didn't initiate the move. If he didn't and Wolfsburg came knocking then Vini would have found out about it anyway as agents are often contacted by the buying club before the selling club is contacted. This is why players often agree terms before a fee is agreed.

We had six central midfielders, Souza, Peck, Arblaster, Davies, Hamer and O'Hare. Someone was bound to go and if that meant losing Souza to keep Hamer and allow Hamer to play central then it's a sacrifice for the benefit of everyone, including Vini who's playing top flight football again, something we couldn't guarantee him.

I get that mate and good luck to the lad ,but I was just looking at he didn't seem to fit into selles philosophy plus gives us 10/13 m .

When I first started doing a bit of reading up and watching vids on Selles and his approach/philosophy (sad bastard, I know!), I struggled to see where Vini would fit in as he's not the style of player that Selles favours. Peck could well also be limited to the bench a lot next season unless Selles swaps to a midfield three from time to time. The first players I thought would suit his style were Burrows, Seriki, O'Hare, Hamer, Campbell and Anel. Now he's added Bindon that leaves four more places to nail down. It'll be interesting to see who he brings in and whether we see more before the first pre-season match, unless Selles wants to see what he's got and what to work with in that match and then target more recruits based on what he sees in that match.

Fellow sad bastard 😁 retirement is a bitch but in-between looking after my good lady , I tend to trawl the net .
I totally agree with your comments on the lads who will suit his style.

If he comes back fully restored you can add Arblaster to that list. Always looking to play forward & progress us up the pitch.

It looks like Leicester are going to be appointing Cifuentes, who managed QPR last season. I'll be interested to see if there is a contrast in the fans reaction to this compared to ours when Selles was appointed.

Bizarre appointment on the face of it, especially when you consider the likes of Wilder and Dyche were being linked.

Presumably Leicester want a modern, forward-thinking manager who has a strong philosophy and also loves losing.

All sounds good on paper, but how many times have we seen new managers who have different philosophies and like to play 'front foot' football flop?

It happens all the time. Every month in England a couple of managers who were 'highly rated' get the sack. Occasionally they succeed. More often they fail.

What Wilder had, what Slav didn't have and Selles won't have, is something intangible. A strong connection with the fans and the club that he'd developed through his life. Even when he was managing elsewhere, he'd look for our results and watch us when he coud.

We didn't always like his tactics or actions, but his force of personality made his players love the club too, and made them willing to bust a gut for him.

We may have been poor in some games but we never stopped trying, and you could see that the players and coaching staff were devastated when we lost.

You can't buy that. Even if you get a tactical and conditioning genius in, there's an X factor in football that means that mavericks like CW will achieve success ahead of university-educated students of the game. The remarkable team spirit that Wilder brought to the club should not be dismissed as something negative or outdated.
Football moves on, stop living in the past. Negative attitudes like this are not beneficial to anyone !

First team we played last season that looked better coached than us
Their manager out coached wilder second half like a chess grand master against a draughts player

We lost two points because of Jack Robinson that day and that problem didn't get solved all season and ultimately cost wilder his job

Man who spent the last month moaning about Wilder getting the boot now thinks we should give the Selles time:

Congrats on the biggest stretch you'll probably come across all season. Fuck me. QPR finished 15th last season.

A lot more nuance to it than that.

Wilder had much better players and most of us struggled to see a gameplan beyond him hoping one of them pulled something out the bag and then sitting back on it.

I saw us beat numerous teams that looked better coached.

Leicester wouldn't have to look far to see that Wilder struggled to guide a year 1 parachute club to promotion...
£10m on Cannon, a really poor final transfer window, lack of on field entertainment / structure, and an abysmal disciplinary record to boot.
Wilder had his pros, but I fully understand why he's been sacked by us and overlooked by them.

I dunno ive come across some pretty big stretches before

I can only assume you've completely misunderstood my point and also that you were doing a pretty big stretch yourself last season
In colditz

Exactly 💯

My guess is that he’ll try his 4-2-2-2 hes used at both reading and hull.

I think formation/position won’t be as relevant as previous manager because his teams are normally quite fluid, especially at the top of the pitch. Players will be allowed to go and press and get out of position.
