Would be extremely keen if we could get him permanently. Not so keen on loan to be honest. Ideally need our own players in that position particularly.

Trickier if Spurs are actually keen on the player I suppose.See it ending up as a loan to buy with a big old fee should we get promoted.
Oh dearHal reporting Brum have joined the hunt

Championship Club Join Sheffield United in Hunt For Promising Premier League Player
Birmingham City have joined Sheffield United in the hunt to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s highly-rated teenage defender Ashley Phillips.sheffunitedway.co.uk
Birmingham are chucking munneh around and will set the high bench mark on wages and contracts. Move on if trueI assume we want to sign Phillips so have a decent chance of getting him. Whereas we probably “lost out” to Birmingham on Doyle because we were never actually interested in him.
We're one of the favourites for promotion again, whilst Birmingham only just bought their way out of League One after being crap for years - in the UKs most unpleasant City. Anyone choosing BCFC over Blades this summer isn't a particularly serious footballer.Birmingham are chucking munneh around and will set the high bench mark on wages and contracts. Move on if true

We’ve got some of that tooMunneh
He's not particularly great in the air or on the deck. I'm honestly not sure why everyone here is getting excited by the prospect.Isn't this lad 6'8 but terrible in the air?
That would leave us with 2 ball playing CB's, this guy, and a Robinson. Where's the big ball winner?
From what I've seen of him, and what Stoke fans I know tell me, he's probably one of their better players last year - would have been better had they been able to have a competent CB partner with himIsn't this lad 6'8 but terrible in the air?

They seem to have money and investment pouring in from everywhere, even transport links so rules don’t apply, like others they’ll treat fines as a necessary expense. Government seem to think ploughing loads of dosh into Birmingham is levelling up the North. Boundary has moved from Watford to Birmingham.Just in case this hasn’t been explicitly covered, I do wish Birmingham would just fuck off!
Surely FFP they can thisthe go bonkers like they have been doing so far.
I mean what they spent last year was obscene for League One.
Except their revenue from operations will be way higher than ours, they have global companies as sponsors whereas nobody had heard of our last 3 sponsors. Additionally they will be getting revenue in from tje US and just appointed an ex Facebook advertising guy as their chief commercial officer. They seem to have money and investment pouring in from everywhere, even transport links so rules don’t apply, like others they’ll treat fines as a necessary expense. They’ll be the next Forest to buy their way in to PL, take a few points after appeal and pay the fines. PL will want 2nd biggest city in PL where there’s more recourse to generate revenue.

Glad someone else has noticed the "Bettis does everything model". Personally can't stand him and don't think the club will progress with him pulling the strings on this side of the pond. I strongly feel that COH will need to get someone more dynamic and football experienced at a higher level, that they recruit to oversee their on going plans not the Prince's former "lap dog" and a "left over" from the McCabe era. Like under the Prince's reign absentee owners can lead to the "while the cats away the mice will play" syndrome.Except their revenue from operations will be way higher than ours, they have global companies as sponsors whereas nobody had heard of our last 3 sponsors. Hopefully our new owners will be moving us closer to this model and away from our Bettis does everything model.
I was expecting a DOF to be announced but apparently that’s the ‘old’ way of doing things.Glad someone else has noticed the "Bettis does everything model". Well considering 19 of 20 Premier League clubs had DofF/Sporting Directors last season. I Believe the majority of Championship clubs had them and also the majority of major clubs throughout Europe also.I was expecting a DOF to be announced but apparently that’s the ‘old’ way of doing things.
No idea what the new way is.
Everton announced a move away from the DoF structure this summer:Well considering 19 of 20 Premier League clubs had DofF/Sporting Directors last season. I Believe the majority of Championship clubs had them and also the majority of major clubs throughout Europe also.
That's why I seriously believe they need someone employed at the club who actually knows what is required to, as they say, become an "established Premier League club". I was also expecting a DoF to be put in place by now. I think they are seriously mistaken if they expect recruitment by AI, data and statistics to be the answer to their Premier League plans. There's alot more to it than that!!!
Yes I had noticed that and it is another alternative for us to consider.Everton announced a move away from the DoF structure this summer:
"In line with the vision mapped out in May by CEO Angus Kinnear, the Club has moved away from a Director of Football model in favour of a football leadership team made up of specialists in technical development, football operations, talent ID, data analytics and player trading."
The new Technical Director is Nick Cox, formerly of this parish.
And the data tells them that Cooper is worth £5mEverton announced a move away from the DoF structure this summer:

The data told them that Cooper is an excellent keeper. They then chose to follow up that info by leaking to Nixon in the hope of unsettling him. Snidey bastards. And the data tells them that Cooper is worth £5m![]()
