There's zero evidence of it working (that's not a criticism). So the risk is enormously on the downside. Is that (necessarily) catastrophic?

Indeed. I looked at his record. Took Southampton down and pretty meh at both Reading and Hull.Finished 4th bottom and only stayed up on goal difference and then got the sack. But yeah they played well at the Lane so he’s the man for the job.
oooh i doubt that will happenGutted by this. Take me a while to care too much about football now I think.
The one tiny positive is maybe these insufferable posters who have absolutely loved slating him over and over these last couple of weeks will shut up for a bit.
Some would, it seems.Indeed. I looked at his record. Took Southampton down and pretty meh at both Reading and Hull.
Surely they wouldn't appoint him on the basis of one good game against us?
The Dream Team
I think woeful is an exaggeration tbh. And I think the people who think last season was awful are in for a shock.oooh i doubt that will happen
however i will say i didn't want him back but the football we've played since November has been woeful very few times I've watched us this season and thought we were brilliant ( compared to when he took us up last time and every game was like watching prime Brazil *slight exaggeration).
I'm struggling to see the logic of replacing a bloke who got a team to 3rd in the division with a bloke who go a team to 21st in the same division. Some would, it seems.
Really?Gutted by this. Take me a while to care too much about football now I think.

Without going down a rabbit hole Slav was expected to play attacking style with no wingers and ageing Norwood and Fleck.
Could mean Jags is coming back as well. We'd have a big Cooper and a Mini Cooper

Time to move on but I felt leaving it where it was in these circumstances reaches more Blades who need that information because not everyone goes to the rumour mill page in fact I know some who can’t be bothered with it. When something as important as this and it’s being reported everywhere it should have been left and not moved. The club normally take ages to comment and this time is no different but their announcement when it comes will be old newsBut it factually hasn't been confirmed, so the location is correct as per the site rules. I couldn't care less either way, but why do you?
We must also hope that his supporters don’t spend the next few months posting about wanting him back and, instead, get behind whoever the next manager is.The one tiny positive is maybe these insufferable posters who have absolutely loved slating him over and over these last couple of weeks will shut up for a bit.
It's not fair to brand all those keen for Wilder to stay but there's certainly a cult amongst a few.I didn't know we had re-branded the club as Wilder United FC.
Oh you’ve done it now. We’re gonna get tuns of barrel puns. You’ve really had our kegs down. Firkin hellThat would be a barrel of laughs![]()
Probably agents confirming things.I don't understand the logic of this being leaked again. Its just feeding the frenzy.
I don't see it being Wilder this time. I doubt he would comment that O'Neil is not in the boards thinking or that Giddings has tweeted that a new manager will be appointed soon.
All seems a bit bizarre.
Good one mate. Hilarious. I didn't realise how much joy slating a manager who's given us so much could bring.I didn't know we had re-branded the club as Wilder United FC.
Oh ye that would be terrible if people pointed out what a stupid decision it was that you've been begging for. I hope you enjoy next season after the dreadful experience of last year.We must also hope that his supporters don’t spend the next few months posting about wanting him back and, instead, get behind whoever the next manager is.
You haven’t been concentrating. Remember, the Best Young manager in the World (Trademark OwlsTalk) only got his team to 14th with one win this year! Rubbish is the new good!I'm struggling to see the logic of replacing a bloke who got a team to 3rd in the division with a bloke who go a team to 21st in the same division.
Selles please

You’ve pointed out that you think it’s a stupid decision. That’s fine, we all have opinions. Going on about it for months & months, as I’m sure some will do, will become very boring. In the same way as people continuing to slag Wilder will.Oh ye that would be terrible if people pointed out what a stupid decision it was that you've been begging for. I hope you enjoy next season after the dreadful experience of last year.
What's Bobby Ford doing these days?Could mean Jags is coming back as well.
It worked so well with Callum RobinsonSome would, it seems.
Yes I was very impressed with last season. I didn't think we'd get top 6. His antics I just enjoy them because it'll be the last time we have a manager in the pub celebrating with fans after games. Too many pearl clutchers will mean its gone from football. I dont take it too seriously and don't think it's embarrassing. The ones constantly posting about him dont seem grateful at all to me.Much of that was first time round and we are grateful for that. You can't honestly say you have been impressed with the football this season or his antics?
