Any Suvvern bases might blades know if the marathon goes near Wemberleeeeeee our across our route in?

Shouldn't be a problem at all route-wise. Might make hotel rooms a bit more difficult to get hold of and might cause a bit of a problem with travel for us Eastend Blades but can't really see many issues.

no it is not near to Wembley the biggest issue will be traffic full stop roads closed etc etc, tube will be busier but personally i think we will survive.

I think i'll be going the m40 route tends to be less traffic then avoid London altogether.

No, it's called Snickers these days, but is freely available in many outlets :-)

The marathon route barely goes away from the Thames, so no direct affect and most of the action is over by erly afternoon in any case apart form the pantomime horses and deep sea divers.

Main problems will be for those who like to head directly into london before going over the Wembley way, all of the usual waterholes will be out of bounds pretty much.

But then you have the traffic issues. 500k line the routes of the Marathon and a good few will be travelling down from northern destinations, but overall the outer ringroads of London could be slower and if blades are unlucky enough to hit this area at this time it could cause delays.

Anyone on here doing the London Marathon this year and needing a good time to make it to Wembley in time for kick off?

Engineering work planned that weekend on the Northern Line so anyone going into St Pancras will have to catch the Metropolitan line up to Wembley. I would definately check back though as when I went to Wembley last month there was only planned engineering work for the Northern Line but both Metropolitan and Jubilee were out as well so I had to get the Bakerloo line up to Wembley which was a reight arse ache.......lets just say "planned" engineering work could and probably will be subject to change!

Personally due to both sets of fans coming from the same direction and the marathon I think the logistics of getting in but particularly out of the capital on the 13th will be nothing short of fucking chaos.

Hull fans will be coming into King's Cross, right? So both sets of fans be switching to a single route - the northbound Metropolitain line - at the same tube station?

Looking at the fat bastards getting fit thread I think a few would struggle, it's too early for them. 26 miles is a long way, but credit to them for giving it a go :)
