If he's cheap enough, crack on. The issue is the ESC (Exceptional Sporting Circumstances’) stuff. 'Clubs in the top two divisions of English football have four ESC slots available to them, two of which Cáceres and Nwachukwu are understood to have filled.'

Can't keep filling those spots without their being a progression path. Won't be long until we've blocked any future paths and we're looking at 'mutual termination' for players because if they don't make it with us, they'll be a tough sell to anyone else.

That's why so many clubs have multi club ownership. Ship the flops out

If the players are costing £1M a punt and l don't imagine their contract value is particularly high, terminations a pay-off probably isn't that hard a pill to swallow. Not ideal, but gotta be better than the risk with a £10M/£18M player that 'flops'....

Presumably the AI modellers know we need bigger, fitter, faster, stronger…

Only 5ft 9.. I’d be quite keen on seeing what the search parameters are on the system. Not a dig, just curious as to how it’s picked two players from the same squad, of the same nationality.

This is what I like to hear…..

“We will do this by continuing the forward thinking work we have already begun,” they added, “to address some of the foundations at the club that underpin our ability to succeed. We are working tirelessly to become stronger in the crucial area of recruitment. We will do this by using data and analytics far more effectively to recruit the best and brightest talent.”

This worries me. Especially that he plays for the same club as one of the others they've already signed. What are the odds a random Bulgarian club has 2 players that are good enough to step up? Really hope these owners know what they're doing.
Didn't that Bulgaria club play a few games in the Europa Conference League last season, before January?

Pretty sure they said that Nwachukwu had played a few games for them in the ECL.

What if Wilder was rouge AI all along, trying to warn us of the dangers? hmm

insert Matt Le Tissier thinking face

Giggs and Scholes once both played for the same team.

Also Belgium chocolate is immense!

On a serious note I'm all for the AI players sitting in the reserves for a season or so in hope to come good when we get as much as the rest of the scrubbers. If we left it to Wilder he'd just want the old band back Mcburnie Egan etc.

No issues with the principle of scouting players like this. My concern is it feels like Chelsea's American idea of just collecting players almost aimlessly.
