Wilder skulking off at the end of the game

Yes, for 60 minutes until he starts blowing out of his arse, but as I said, no different to half the rest of them, fitness and conditioning of the whole squad is an absolute nightmare
I agree about fitness which I think dictates our tactics of sinking deeper and looking for breakaways mainly due to them being fucked.

This. c£500 to take my boy to the game, which I was happy to do. He berates us for not showing enough pashun or support but flounces off without any acknowledgement of those that made the effort, and did a fantastic job of matching the Mackems (who were as loud as any group of supporters I’ve seen.) He’s a mardy arse classless pillock and I can’t wait to see him gone - total embarrassment who wrongly characterises us all with his petulant behaviour - no wonder everyone hates us
It's played on my mind that some of his actions this season would come back to bite. What goes around comes around.

Social media is having a field day at his expense and it's far from just pigs and Leeds.

That tells you how his actions have gone down with the wider football community.

5 years ago he was generally well liked by neutral fans.

Absolutely this, I got pelters for suggesting the same thing after the Plymouth game but he’s an embarrassment. He defines how we are perceived and I don’t like it one bit.

If you're going to foster a no-one likes us we don't care mentality, you need stronger characters than we've got.

If Wilder stays, I hope he cuts a different figure next season. More the 2016 - 2020 version.

Celebrate when you've actually achieved something, behave like a professional man of nearly 60, and only create headlines for the right reasons.

Sadly, whilst I agree with everything you say, it’s too late, he’s done for. His behaviour this season tactically and personality wise confirms that. Barry Bannan ripping in to us on social media is, god help me, totally understandable. Wilder sows the seeds……

He needs to leave.

He’s had another interview where we’ve bottled a big game and he’s talking about the stats not backing up the result.

This is the bloke who said “you can stick your data”.

He’s a hypocrite and out of his depth.

Some fans buy into the parochialism but the smart ones see straight through it. Get a proper manager in, one we can build a transfer and playing strategy around. Then give them the time and money to implement it.

Wilder’s football this season has been shite, his fitness record has been shite and his ability to spend money is shite. Get rid.

Don’t get fucking Steve Cooper in either, think outside the box for once and ignore the dunces in our fan base.
Spot on mate👍.... now wait for the bladey blades to pull you to pieces!😊

Surprised there’s no individual thread about Wilder going AWOL at the end of the game. As a leader of any organization you lead by example, through good times and in bad. Rather than disappearing down the tunnel as fast as he could (which is what appeared to be the case from s113) he should have pulled the players together and led them to thank the fans rather than leaving them out there to make their own decisions as to what to do. His emotions as a supporter overrode his responsibility as a manager. Totally shameful. Hats off to Hamza being the one who came over first (and stayed last).
Your right there ! his emotions has a Blade took over ! He was gutted like we all are.Sometimes events override your professionalism (red mist when players get sent off for violent conduct). I can forgive him for that if that's what happened.
Carrying the weight of all of us gutted Blades ! That is a tough call..
Just want the best for the club next season ! If that means a change of manager fair enough.
I can't see Wilder being against that ! He's a Blade and wants the best for the club and would get a good pay off and able to watch the Blades without the stress of being the leader..

it’s absolutely obvious today hurt him big time.
It was all about him that press conference.

Walking off the pitch and admitting in the presser he hadn’t spoken to the players 90 minutes after the game is disgraceful.

He should have been on the pitch supporting players and fans then going in the dressing room with the players.

What happened with him going AWOL suggests he had lost the dressing room after the disastrous run at the end of the season all down to his tactics right down to the final.

Here’s and alternative highlight version of his attitude after the game…….

said hed not spoke to the players at this point

90 mins after the game and he hadn’t spoken to the players!? I’d have thought any leader of a group would have been in there sharing their pain and picking them up but no, let’s talk about me and my career. Basically, classic Wilder when things go wrong - failure to execute a plan, tick. Unable finish, tick. Lack of leadership on the pitch, tick. etc etc.
How about, “we had it there on a plate, it wasn’t our day but now isn’t the time to criticise my team in public. We’ll suffer in private, regroup and come back stronger.”
That was all that needed saying.
At least he was good enough to congratulate Sunderland and their fans

And another thing…….

In the disgusting outburst blaming it all on the players; on which planet does he think we were in control of the game 10mins into second half?

We were sat surrounded by the drunk family from hell who wouldn’t sit down apart from when they fell down and we watch most of game on screen. We hardly got to our end of pitch, we were to busy tactically defending a 1-0 lead.

The irony in this is unreal 🤣

We're you in block 108 I was sat near a similar family

I turned this off half way through. It's a miracle I still have the TV in one piece. I really despise that man right now. We have to put teams to bed he says. How about attacking and no negative tactics. How about ensuring a training regime that means players can last 90 minutes. How about not leaving a 2 time FA cup winner on the bench at Wembley. Oh, just Fuck Off!

I’m sorry 😔

Cousin Aubrey smuggled in a bottle of Drambuie and it all went to hell - you looked good in my gear though

Excellent post!

Honest, absolutely nails it about Wilder.

Awaits the incoming storm from the 'my manager' / 'one of our own' / happy with badge thumping / his clique who need the cache of connection to him as much as he needs this job because it's become their identity.

Flouncing off? He's not who you think he is and that proved it. He doesn't 'get it'. 'The narrative' is all about him.

Time to move on.

Feckin knew it

Seriously, what’s the point of stewards apart from herding responsible supporters. Kept coming and asking them to sit down but they just gave them lip

Completely agree, he's a complete embarrassment. I've wanted him gone for a while for his behavior/attitude not just his complete lack of tactics.

He's an embarrassment to the club the same as all the old boys fighting each other at Wembley yesterday (wouldn't even surprise me if they were his mates to be honest).

I don't know what he is watching Hamer wss the best player in the league overall.

Hamer is a game changer and a liter chest code at this level like Ndiaye and Morgan Gibbs White etc.
He's good is Gus, but someway behind Ndiaye and MGW
Best for us and him if we part ways, good money for us and he needs a club that can improve his fitness and off field professionalism.
In other words, stop eating too much crap

He was on the Talksport show with Tony Cascarono and Natalie Sawyer at 9.35am.

He sounded really down, said last night was very difficult for him, his family and the players.
He said they stayed at the Hilton last night and he can still see the Wembley Arches from where he’s standing, said he bumped into Nathan Jones (the Charlton Athletic manager), last night and told him it’s place for losers, so wishes them the best of luck for their game today against Leyton Orient.

Wilder thanked the owners for their kind words of support last night and said he’s confident they are very much committed and here for the long haul.
He also said he’s received a text last night from his friend Paul Heation who has invited him to his concert today at Bramall Labe, so he may go there.

Said he needs a little break away from football with the family, he then thanked his family and friends (Unitedites) for their support. Said he’ll return with batteries refreshed and up for the fight and mentioned all the positives at the club, regards the stature of the club and the young players coming through. Wilder also said he understood the negativity he’s receiving on social media,

When the interview finished Cas and Natalie praised Wilder for showing leadership by showing his face the morning after a defeat.
They said they haven’t seen any negativity towards him on social media, both agreed that very few managers would face the media when they’re in pain.
They also read out a text from a Liverpool fan praising Wilder for giving an interview so soon after a bad defeat.

To be honest…it’s true….it does show leadership to face the music so quickly after a massive disappointment.
