If you could go to one old stadium to watch us play away

Elm Park . Went to Reading in 1997 the year before they moved. Blades won 1-0 i think.
It was a shitty ground but the atmosphere that day was great and more "alive" than the soulless bowl that they moved to.download (3).webp

I was at Highbury in 2005 for our 1-1 draw in the Warnock era, I was looking back on their team although they some would have been young then we were up against Ljungberg, Fabregas, Flamini, Bergkamp (sent off) and Van Persie amongst others, and that simply the best orange HFS loans away shirt (it's between that or the classic yellow for me)

But to answer the OP for the randomness of it Estádio Municipal de Braga
Highbury was one of my faves, that was way back though, before they chopped down the clock end, was never the same after IMHO.

Does anyone recall an FA Cup tie at Highbury when Dane Whitehouse scored and we had Steve White upfront? Must have been the Kendall era. Finished 1.1. I remember a cracking away end. We celebrated like we won the Cup. Ian Wright scored for them. I cannot remember if that was time when we won the replay with Carl Veart's goal.

I was there, right next to the Arsenal fans in one of the side stands, very very loud from the Blades. Jan 1996. You are thinking of David White, was previously at Man City and I thought was quite good for us. Remember him scoring a few.

That's right. David White. Yes, we were at the side too next to the Clock End. One of those games where you were still buzzing next day.

Second half of that season was excellent, Kendall really turned that team round and Walker and Taylor up front formed a great partnership.

Went to a lot of aways that year, including a brilliant 2-0 at Filbert Street where the Leicester fans wanted Martin O'Neill sacked afterwards, but then he took them up.

Yes, I recall Andy Walker and Gareth? Taylor. That was a great partnership. Walker was a deadly finisher. I think we got him from Celtic. I didn't get to many games as had just moved to London and money was tight. But that was a good side.

West Ham's old ground.
Villa is still quality and my most enjoyable PL ground in the Warnock era, even though we got battered. It was the first match after the American take over, a new Villa scarf was on each seat and the European cup winning team were introduced. Incredible atmosphere!

Goodison. I've never been to either Anfield or Goodison. Although I'm making my first trip to Anfield next month to see Springsteen.
If you wear some blue tinted sunglasses and hold two pencils vertically in front of your sightlines you can imagine Goodison whilst at Anfield.

Fjortoft for them, Nathan Blake for us - pissed it down if I recall

Was that the game when their striker went through, shot and Tracey saved it at the edge of the area but it looped up and into the goal?
no the teams are listed below

Halcyon days indeed, and all started with a last minute Craig Russell winner.

sure Tuttle got a Red Card and they scored very late in the game

Sunderland: Norman, Kubicki, Bennett, Ord, Scott, Agnew, Ferguson (Martin Gray), Atkinson, Smith, Angell (Russell), P. Gray Substitute not used: Preece

Sheffield United: Kelly, Gage, Tuttle, Beesley, Nilsen, Rogers, Hartfield (Hodges), Veart, Black, Whitehouse (Scott), Blake Substitute not used: Tracey

Attendance: 17,259

I went to the Baseball Ground a few times in the early 70s. It was always a difficult place to go.
We usually got well beaten and more often than not we were chased through the back streets by brick throwing Derby fans.
Happy days.

I think it probably was that game - I've just misremembered who our keeper was...

potato quality highlights...

I remember Roker Park think it was Petet Reids 1st game in charge I think we lost 1-0 baltic away end was packed but bloody freezing
I think you may have merged our two trips in 1995 to Roker.

Peter Reids first game was in April 1995 - and i have posted highlights above.

In Nov 1995 we then lost 2-0 away - and as you say it was absolutely freezing.

Back in the mid 80s I went with my brother to watch Scunny play at The Shay (Halifax Town), I'd think you'd be hard pressed to find a more dire away end.
I raise you Springfield Park, Wigan. Went to a league cup away match around 1991 (?) and the away end was a grass bank with a burger van at the top.

After exiting the away fan cage at the Den ,Thankfully the coppers would make a Tunnel of love, on the walk back to the coaches, this is even after being kept in for a while , lot better now.

I never made it to Upton Park, not sure how that never happened
