We all know it's just "AI" filtering some data, right... ? Not typing questions into Microsoft Copilot, for example. Basically we're using scouting data.

Fuck AI. Skynet shit.
But what data about a bloke who even his own Dad won't pick suggests we should sign him

Palkó Dárdai:

Has managed sweet FA for Hertha this season and only played 24% of their minutes, and that's with his own dad picking the bloody team!

If a man genetically programmed to think love ol' Palko thinks he's not good enough for German 2nd tier mid-table obscurity, then he must be absolute, unmitigated, irredeemable shite.
Get him signed! The new Axel Smeets!

Place your bets now please!

I asked Claude to summarise:

'I want you act as a football scout. I want you to evaluate a list of players I will give you. I want you to look for similarities, outstanding stats and finally which is most likely to transfer the EFL Championship, based on the length of their remaining contract:'

I'll analyze these players and provide insights about their similarities, standout statistics, and transfer potential to the EFL Championship. Let me break this down systematically.

Key Patterns and Similarities:

1. Age Distribution:
  • Predominantly aged 19-21
  • Only one player (Quenda) is 17
  • Shows a clear focus on emerging talent rather than established players

2. Geographic Clusters:
  • Strong Scandinavian presence (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish players)
  • Notable Belgian talent pipeline
  • Several players from Croatian clubs, particularly Dinamo Zagreb
  • Multiple Sporting CP (Portugal) prospects

3. Club Pattern:
  • Many players from development-focused clubs (Ajax, Sporting CP, Dinamo Zagreb)
  • Several from Shakhtar Donetsk (suggesting good scouting network in Brazil)
  • Strong presence from Benelux leagues (Belgium, Netherlands)

Most Likely Championship Transfers:

Based on typical Championship recruitment patterns and considering contract situations, these players stand out as realistic targets:

1. Lahdo (AZ) - Swedish attackers have historically done well in the Championship
2. Hansen (NEC) - Dutch league experience and right age profile
3. Popescu (FCSB) - Romanian players often make this step
4. Swedberg (Celta Vigo) - Could be available if Celta struggles
5. Tchaouna (Lazio) - Might need playing time if not breaking through

Standout Statistics/Traits:
(Note: Without specific performance data, these are based on general scouting reports)

  • Stroeykens: High potential Belgian youth international
  • Ondrejka: Strong goalscoring record for his age
  • Duranville: One of the most expensive teenagers in the group (Dortmund transfer)
  • Volpato: Serie A experience at a young age
  • Unuvar: Former Ajax academy standout with high technical ability

Would you like me to focus on any particular aspect of these players or provide more detailed analysis of specific individuals? I can also analyze their playing styles and positions if that would be helpful.

So Danny knows their age, experience, whether they'll fit in in the championship, their spoken languages and what they've had for breakfast at the airport, but hasn't dropped their names yet...
Yeah, this is funny one.

That said, there's a chance that he's protecting his 'in' with the club or sources.

All the new owners had to do was come in and act sane. No sex changes or anything like that. Just buck the trend and be normal

But nope, they turn up and decide to hand over scouting and recruitment to the Matrix

It's Sheffield United.... There's always something crazy and whacky just around the corner, especially at board level

These seem to be very strange signings. We don't need two wingers. We have BBD, JRS and Brooks. O'Hare and Hamer both played out side, This seems a very strange move.

This stinks of Danny Hall leaking some info from CW's circle about some players that are being forced upon him. It's all a bit amateur-hour.

Rambles just mentioned someone called Joao Grimaldo from Partizan. Didnt say it was one of them for definite. Just said keep an eye out for the name.

I would actually like one forward who can play across the three who can really unlock doors. But a couple of wingers who aren't for the now or future seems a bit odd.

Maybe Joe Russo knows that transfer deadline day needs to be a cliffhanger and a solitary CB isn't enough to get us all excited.

I think they're just experimenting to see if AI for finding players has long term potential.

Wingers are probably the positions that you don't mind bringing on for the last 20.mins to see how they do. So probably the easiest position to test it out with

I'll analyze Joao Grimaldo and compare him with our previous players in a table format.

JOÃO GRIMALDO
Position: Right Winger/Forward
Age: 20
Current Club: Partizan Belgrade
Nationality: Portuguese

Statistical Comparison Table:

1738585214664.webp

Key Strengths:
  • Exceptional dribbling ability in tight spaces
  • High-level acceleration and agility
  • Strong 1v1 ability
  • Good ball progression
  • Creative in final third

Areas for Development:
  • Decision making in final third
  • Defensive contribution
  • Aerial ability
  • End product consistency

Playing Style Analysis:
Grimaldo is an explosive winger who excels in take-ons and progressive carries. His playing style is most similar to Inoussa among our compared players, but with better technical refinement. He's particularly effective in transition moments and when isolated against defenders.

Comparative Analysis:
  • More explosive than Dárdai but less tactically refined
  • Better dribbler than Ballo but less complete technically
  • Similar profile to Inoussa but with higher technical ceiling
  • More direct than all three in his approach

Performance Context:
  • Standing out in Serbian SuperLiga
  • Good performances in European competition
  • Showing consistent improvement trajectory
  • Adapting well to physical league demands

Potential Trajectory:
  • High ceiling due to combination of technical skill and physical attributes
  • Ready for step up to stronger league
  • Could benefit from more tactical structure
  • Age profile suggests significant room for development

Would you like me to focus on any particular aspect of his game or provide more specific comparisons with certain attributes?

These 2 could purely be down to investment strategies. Buy them in relatively cheap and sell them on a profit a couple of years later.
