Some of our fans really are odd. Haven’t been today as I’m on holiday, saw the goal which he created brilliantly. Came onto the forum and saw his thread was the most recently commented on, expected him to be getting prised. Hes getting slagged off haha 😂. Can’t make it up.

It’s not your fans mate, it’s the player. It’s what you’re going to get.

Considering what Borough just paid for the lad from Plymouth who is a much better player than Cannon, we absolutely did.
Possibly, that remains to be seen.

As for Whittaker, yes he can be very good, but plays in a different position, and in half of the games he's on the team sheet he's practically invisible.

That would not have gone down well here.

I've seen him plenty more than 2 games this season, he isn't worth anything close to what we paid for him. Pretty much all Stoke and Leicester fans seem to think the same too.
Backing yourself into a corner mate. I can feel it already, u r watching our matches hoping he fucks up so u can tell everyone I told you so and get some kind of pleasure from 'being right'

He's won us 2 points today so why not enjoy it rather than feeling you have to keep saying i told u so if he misses a half chance?

I was underwhelmed by his signing and I've been underwhelmed by what I've seen (both for Stoke and us). I know our tactics don't help but he had time, space and options and smashed it in to row z.

I'm not going to write him off, but I've got very low expectations.

Cannon's just won us the game today with the way he creates space for himself and then puts in a lovely cross on his left foot (Cannon is two footed btw) If we get promoted and Cannon plays his part then he's already paid the fee back.

It's his second game today too and already we're seeing an end product.

He's not been involved much, but won us the game...
That's what he's here for.

Appreciate you're just engaging in the debate, but it's odd timing to be singling Cannon out in any way after he's won us the points?

United partially signed him to stop Sunderland getting him. Sunderland will get a new striker and the attributes of who they get verses cannon will go a long way to deciding the top 2

Great little drop of the shoulder, he’ll be decent when we start playing to his strengths. If we’re going for gritty 1 goal wins every week he’ll wish he went elsewhere.
Sure he’ll be feeling just fine.

We’d have picked up three Cannons at least in Europe for 10 million and the same wage of one UK Cannon would pay for three European ones

If only someone could have magic’d our Academy into Cat 1 at the same time as this established European scouting network and data analysis infrastructure which has appeared overnight, that would have been great. :)

At the moment I’m sure he’s fine, he’s setup the winning goal today. I’d love to see us play a style of football that brought players like Cannon into the game a bit more but practically we need to get promoted so if we 1 nil every game that’s fine for the purpose of this season, beyond that we need a reinvention.

‘He’ll wish he went elsewhere’ - this is just needless hyperbole.

At some point you’re going to have a think about what you’re doing with your life and decide against this.

We’ll see, at the moment it looks to me a similar type of signing to Leon Britton in a Blackwell team.

Like I say I hope we can start playing to his strengths and get him some goals.
