Linesman today

I could swear he got four or five decisions wrong today, possibly including for our disallowed goal? Seemed very poor to me
I've been a lino and it's very hard. You get one chance and hardly any time to decide it. Not sure they got that many wrong, but the
big ones they did.

Like they got our equaliser wrong but it was very tight. We could only see it was on after pausing a replay.

The other lino probably got their 2nd goal wrong as well as it was off, but again it was tight.

Lick our wounds and come back stronger blades.

If our "goal" had been allowed we would have won that, Cannon would have grabbed a goal and all the snowflakes would have melted.
Just not our day.
UTB!
I think at 0-2 we would’ve won that. We didn’t have to panic.

Our disallowed goal was on from what Sky showed. Even hinchcliffe thought it was strange

Still better than VAR though and the game moved on quick
I was fuming when our goal was disallowed, but then remembered how much I hate VAR. When did the lino actually flag, as the goal was scored a long time after the "offside"

Surely though for ours it should favour the attacking team, like it did theirs.

I thought it was a really poor decision tbh

The first few replays looked off but another angle looked like Robbo played him on. Just. Very tight.

It was robbery. It wasn't even marginal. Brewster was clearly onside and Campbell was well onside. If it was tight you take it on the chin but atrocious decision. I knew without looking at the replay. The scorer of Hull's second was offside and came back from an offside position when scoring.

I’m not sure when he actually flagged but in realtime I think the flag was up and the whistle blown as the ball dropped to Campbell from Brewster. On the replays it didn’t seem that he flagged when Brewster received the ball. So it was sometime after this

It wasnt a robbery its a 5050 call brewster was level , you cant tell from the angle sky gave so im not sure what the linesman looking from 40 yards can do in driving rain

I certainly couldnt tell sat on the sofa at home so im not sure why everyone is saying it is a robbery

It goes back To VAR which would have got the ruler out and came to the correct decision

I’ll throw one in, whether there’s anything in it I don’t know. Prior to kick off the back 4 went to do their final warm up. The ref and linesmen were warming up directly opposite the family stand. Robbo went over pointing and telling them to move out of the way, not in an obvious friendly way and go towards the half way line. The three of them went away looking peed off and were muttering to each other. Thought to myself at the time we’ll not get anything tonight from these officials now. Grasping at straws I know but it’s certainly crossed my mind.

People will call that conspiracy but like we have discussed many times recently ex pro refs are on record about their bias against some clubs. We have a shockingly shit reputation with a number of refs which probably stems from the days of Warnock bollocking them from the touchline endlessly during and after a match.

Was there a handball from a hill player today in their box because it looked like one in the second half which would have been a pen at one nil down.

Neither goal was offside. Remember this is standard rules, not VAR rules, so "level" still exists, and Brewster was level at worst (poor camera angle, but definitely not in front) and the Hull man was level (good camera angle).

It was certainly Brewster that was given offside, as we could tell from the linesman's signal. Flag pointing half upwards = offside on the far side, flag horizontal = offside in the middle, flag pointing half downwards = offside on the near side.

Flagged shortly after the goal.

Exactly. Got in the pub after the game and they were showing the goals. Our disallowed goal was very tight.

I've seen and heard plenty tonight about how lucky Hull were. If that game tonight had been reversed and anyone had suggested we'd been lucky, the same people would have taken the piss.

We deserved to lose and the officials weren't to blame.

I’d rather have the occasional wrong decision than VAR. (Was this the first goal we’ve had chalked off due to a wrong offside call this season? I think so).

We should be comfortably beating Hull even with a wrongly disallowed goal.

We’d have had to have a shot on target to win that game, we didn’t seem that bothered about doing so. 4 forwards on at one point and not one person to create a chance for them.

Linesman fucked up.

Arguably cost us points because we know at 1-1 the tide of the game would have shifted dramatically.

However the performance on the whole was pretty honking and we hardly created any clear cut chances without Hamer in the team.

Got to fear a little for the Derby County game too.

Given the ref in the week was a lot worse, but decisions went in our favour, I can't believe how much people are complaining about an error. It's the cost of not having VAR and it's a cost worth paying. And we get more iffy decisions going out way in this league than against us.

Not with the substitutions Wilder made....

The minute he moved Peck to RB we lost all shape and ball retention. Was the most bizarre change I've seen in ages. Peck and Souza stay in centre mid, and you're right, we're able to pen them in, Infront of the cop and we have a go... Brewster in centre mid and Peck to RB was just crazy....

Yes without the panic changes we were still fine

Nah. Was onside from the off and Hinchcliffe said so. You must have been watching the Tiger tv feed.
