An old bus driver friend of mine told me that when the Videmat machines came out he used to tell the old dears that got on to put their money into the machine, then shout their destination into the red opening before pressing the green button, otherwise it couldn’t tell where they were going. Oh how we laughed.

Sat 23.11.63. Fulham 3 Sheffield Utd 1

We had a great start P 18 W 9 D 6 L 3 but that Fulham game was one of four consecutive defeats. Ended up 12th with 43 points (2 points for a win).

We were at the top of the league on the day JFK got shot
---------now that's the kind of info that 'aut to be put in documentaries about J.F.K.
Scoop Bottle, reporter, to editor, "Sheffield 'The Blades' United head the league and on a sad note, for some, U.S. President shot dead, will the Blades maintain their form to win the league"? :)

Remember this day well, during the Bassett years I always stood with my dad and other family members behind the white wall and as I got older started to go to the back of the kop at half time.
Thankful I got to experience standing on the old kop for a good 4 seasons before seating was put in.
Loved the view from up behind the wall too…looking across a packed Kop on night games seeing cigs being lit and puffs of smoke everywhere.
Also memories of when it pissed down certain areas of the roof leaked badly!
Happy days 🙌🏼⚔️

Could be but hard to tell, maybe the kit in 73 and we did wear red socks at times. Just by the hair I thought of Ted or Keith Eddy but just a guess.

It’s hard to make out if the collar and trim on the sleeves are red or darker maybe black? If it’s black then possibly Stoke from the mid 70s.

Could be, I thought Ted Hemsley if that's a no.3 shirt. Might be against Leeds, from the all-white kit in the background.

Trim if black suggests Stoke but zoom in it doesn’t look darker than the stripes!

Ted Hemsley just before Leeds 2nd goal by McQueen 21/9/74
