Dare I turn this around to a bit of optimism.

It might not have been the best 90 minutes we've been served up in Cloughy's tenure so far however after a poor half we witnessed and Jose thunderbolt and could well have knicked it in the end.......however.

First and foremost we are now unbeaten in 7 competitive fixtures.

We have scored in 6 out of these 7 fixtures.

We now have a regular goalscorer who is not a central defender in Jose Baxter.

We've only conceded 3 goals in our last 6 league fixtures.

We've had 3 clean sheets in our last 6 league fixtures.

Our last 6 matches actually sit us a staggering 5th in the League one form table.

So we had a bit of crapped served up yesterday you have to admit weve come a hell of a long way and this is on the same resources as those that Weir had. It only gives optimism that when Clough gets the chance to stamp a bit of his own personality on the squad that things will continue to improve.

Onwards and upwards! UTB!

Hopefully you are right. There is only so much dross a fan can take.

Definitely still feeling this optimism despite our first half performance against oldham.

Really enjoyed the second half and seeing that strike coming flying towards me as I sat in the kop blew me away, hopefully we'll have a few more of them from him ;)

Just to balance this Chris Porter is still our first choice centre forward.

Well spotted!

But then that doesn't deter away from the achievements above really does it!

As a "unit" or "team" we are moving in the right direction and Porter has been an instrument part of this whether we like it or not, he might not have popped up with a dozen goals but he has definitely played a part in the unbeaten run we have had.

January transfer window gives us an opportunity to hopefully bring in some firepower and I think judging by what Cloughy is saying he is looking to do this, until then I really don't see the need to attack him.
