Point is?

No I’m not bothered about going up, why would anyone after last season?
No I wouldn’t want McBurnie back, my opinion, I’m glad we’ve not signed Barnes, my opinion.

Personally don’t think we’ll spend any money this window, my opinion.

Brewster prob has earnt about £9m in wages, fact

We have lost to Leeds, Boro and Burnley, and Sunderland🤷‍♂️

We’ve not played well for a while, anyone who thinks otherwise have been watching something different.
The journey is always better than the destination, especially when it comes to the premier league.

As fans, no one wants a repeat of last season, even the ones who want us to get promoted.

CW and the players will want to get promoted, we'd all question their ambition if they didn't want to get promoted.

Yes, we did lose to Leeds, Boro and Sunderland, but we have beaten Sunderland as well, we've also beaten both Blackburn and Watford while drawing twice against WBA, even Leeds and Burnley didn't beat Blackburn.

While I can't fault Brewster for a lack of effort, he does need to deliver more in front of goal, a few assists would be nice.

I agree with you about Mcburnie, for him to come back having only just left in the summer would be questionable, as it was the right move for both parties that he moved on.

Performances have dropped in the last 5/6 games, when the injuries/suspensions started and the squad got thinner, but we can pick up points when we aren't playing well, a lot of sides in the championship can't do that.

I wonder what DesTaylors input is or has been in the type of players required /Requested by CWAK on his magic list. Or is Des Taylor even on the scouting team 🤔
We've not had any major interview of note or details of any appointments to admin times from the new owners yet have we. Surely we get that in next week or so.

I wonder if our summer links to Billing were down to Des Taylor from his Bournemouth days, same with Kieffer.

Given Jamie Hoylands past employment with Everton (was he at West Ham as well?) I wonder if Tom Cannon might be someone JH suggested as he would have known about him from his time at Everton.

Wilder mentioned something about speaking to ‘the recruitment team’ in his interview post-Sunderland. I assume this will include Des, Bettis and Hoyland?

We’ve just been bought ffs. You’re saying they won’t spend a bean or try to get us stable in the premier when their business plan is to do just that

A random trait amongst many SUFC fans that I'll never understand.
What's point in following a sport if you don't want to get to the top?
Maybe because, in all things, enjoying the journey is far more important than the destination, especially when the destination is uncertain.

My enjoyment of football and, in particular, the Blades doesn’t really depend on which division we happen to be in.

I understand winning is better than losing. But in a relegation/promotion system. The goal is to be in the top section.
We may have to fail up there multiple times before we become competitive. But giving up on the top just because it was a bit shit last time isn't the right attitude IMO

But it does presumably have some element of building a better future as part of that enjoyment?
If we don’t do up, this side gets broken up, again and again and again and just gets weaker.

Exactly this! And then eventually we’re getting pumped every week in the Champ and we’re L1 bound again!
I don’t understand how folk don’t get this!

I hear people say things like 'I'm happy finishing 7th every season'.

Apart from the fact they won't be after a couple of seasons, the reality is that it won't be that high after that.

I think most people are saying they just enjoy that more.
I would rather see us beat a league 1 or 2 team 4 or 5 nil than watch us trying to hang onto a 0-0 against Man Utd - for example.
I go to watch Utd, not the other team.
The latter is a necessary 'challenge' to be able to maintain a level of being a top 30 team in England.
But I am more than hopeful that we can now progress to a team able to survive in the Premier League more years than not.

Van Gerwyn said something along these lines last night after he lost.

To paraphrase... "Of course it hurts, but as a sport losing should hurt. But it's defeats that make you keep playing better"

It's not about success or promotions I think it just boils down to fans dislike of the Premier League. I hate it personally
I'm like you. Don't like what the PL has become. It's hard to compete up there now. The key to success up there now seems to be surviving 2 seasons. After that and you'll have built a decent side and you're generally loaded.

No you hate finishing 20th and conceding 100 goals a season

Ask forest fans if they like it
Why don't I watch any other games then? Let alone pay to go and see them?
The cheating and the money had me, but when VAR came in and stopped immediate celebrations I completely lost interest.

Yeah that's true
Anyway, my original point before several people derailed it is we obviously do create chances for strikers in answer to the misery arse who says we don't
We create them, putting them away seems to be the issue

The Premier League is properly wank however well you're doing, it's impossible to overstate how much VAR has ruined the match day experience.
The concept of it is fine.

The execution of it is piss poor
