Kieffer Moore

One of senior players tonight that should be taking some of the pressure off the younger players. He should easily be an issue for two defenders creating space for others. Or there for players to lay into feet, chest or nob end. But he did nothing, terrible performance.

Fingers crossed he can get that curve out of his back as he jumps lower than he stands tall
He doesn't make runs, he can't play with his back to goal, can't handle the ball to his feet, can't jump, takes a shit penalty, ends up on his arse after every challenge, but loves playing against Cardiff, he's just not looking like a Blades player to me,needs a rocket up his arse

The debate about who takes penalties is obvious = Hamer. Moore is only taking them to get his numbers up in an attempt [by CW] to make him look better than he is…..let’s all be honest, he’s rubbish isn’t he…….His only game time should be off the bench.

Last night Moore put in one of the most inept performances from a Blades forward I have seen in decades,it was like he was actively trying to avoid getting involved, moved around like somebody trying to avoid traffic while crossing a 6 lane motorway .His body language was like that of an anti football footballer,a dog getting on the pitch would have shown more enthusiasm for getting involved in the action,2 even half decent forwards last night and we would have won that, despite Robinson.

And yet Wilder will continue to play him. Even if we had credible alternatives (at the moment we don’t) he would continue to play him as he will Brewster who despite all of our prayers is never going to be the striker we all want him to be. It’s his stubbornness and decision making that will kill us.

Just last night, he's been mostly terrible since he joined.
I would say he was worse against WBA at least he didn't pass the ball to the opposition at least 4 or 5 times last night.
His hold up play is terrible he either looses the ball to the defender challenging behind him or the ball comes of his foot about a yard in front of him thus allowing an opposition player to win the ball back.
I thought he would be better than McBurnie but right now i would have McBurnie back.
I have to close my eyes when he takes a penalty he looks like the most unnatural penalty taker I have ever seen in a United shirt, he takes penalties like Captain Blade with his size 20 boots on.

McBurnie in reality is a different striker, he was never a proper old skool target man as he struggled to trap or knock on the ball plus he didn't always win his battles as a target man. It didn't help that any header he went up for the ref would immediately give the opposition a free kick regardless. He worked as a good foil for Ndiaye when the ball was played into feet and he could link up well.
Agree he’s a different striker alright, he’s a much better one

That's a bit like saying Gerry McCann is a better baby sitter than Ian Huntley....

They're both VHS players in a digital world.

With the way we're trying to play, and the other skill players in he squad, we need to be looking at mobile strikers who excel in one-touch give and go. Not big lumps.

Couldn’t agree more
I just can’t see wilder going for one, look at the names were linked with not one looks like an athlete

It's his decision making for me that is crap last night he had the ball all he had to do was pass to One and we were in but no he lofts the ball into the air the opposite way in the general direction of Brooks and Burrows who to be fair made the chance where Brooks brought a good save for their keeper. He did the same in the Cardiff game when he could have put Brewster in but got lucky when the Cardiff keeper fluffed the shot at his near post letting him score, even Wilder said the ball going in was the only thing saving him from a bollocking. Time and time again the ball falls to him and he dithers and the chance is gone his brain works about as fast as Joe Biden's does.Astounding that we have signed this fella for 3yrs his level is Barnsley or Rotherham certainly not top half Championship. The less said about his penalty kicks the better I'd have more confidence in me scoring one than this guy, you could see he was going to miss last night.

Surely Hamer, Davies, or O’Hare would all take a better penalty

Kieffer Moore has taken 12 penalties in his career scoring 8.

His previous 2 misses were actually his first 2 career penalties:
  • August 2014, for Yeovil versus Gillingham (Stephen Bywater)
  • November 2017, for Rotherham versus Shrewsbury (Dean Henderson)
Sods law that he then scores 7 from 7 before missing 2 in 3 when he signs for us 🤣

Regarding the 3 players you have listed, Hamer and Davies have never taken a penalty in professional football:

Hamer
Took 1 and scored it for Zwolle u/21s

Davies
Missed one for England u/19s against Belgium in 2016

O'Hare
Missed 2 and scored 1 for Aston Villa u/21s
His only professional penalty was last season against Oxford in the FA Cup:

Burrows
Wasn't on the pitch for the penalty last night, but he has taken 4 penalties and scored all 4. All of them last season.

Please lord let us bring another couple of strikers in during this window so he gets knocked down the pecking order.

It's clear he should just be used as a plan B.

McBurnie certainly had his negatives, but the difference between Ol and Kieffer are frightening.
PLAN B ? You rate him that hi?

I personally don't, but he's here (for 3 years somehow), so I can't see us just ditching him completely at this stage.

When we're chasing games, pumping balls into the box, he could be useful (yet to see him actually use his size/strength well to be fair, apart from the first goal at Cardiff).

Agree I suppose we are bloody stuck with him but he adds nothing at all to the team might as well give a yound'un like marsh a run ,it's not that we would be losing any thing on the front line is it? and maybe we might just add something to it . May be we might resolve the problem in the window but surely Moore can't start the next match ,he is like running a 100 yds sprint with a broken leg .

Point taken, but as we saw last night Burrows isn't always going to be on the pitch. Also wonder about the ego thing for Moore if he gets them taken off him and given to a defender- at least Hamer/O'Hare have more of the 'main man' status in the team to claim pens

I would also give it to Burrows. He is a dead ball specialist sharing free kicks with Hamer. So apart from Hamer Burrows is a choice.
If he aint on the pitch sub him on for the penalty.
(yeah that aint a thing)

He seems also to lean over to his left when he takes a penalty, like his ballast is out of sync or something. Telegraphed to go to the centre or to the keepers left. Does he need a sandbag tying to his right hand side to bring back his equilibrium?

I suppose when you only pay £2.5 million you’re not going to get prime Shearer.
What’s that saying? Something about pay peanuts or something.

Poor pen it was sadly. He often scores pen.

Burrows for me too if he scored 4 last season

He could be the next Shane Nicholson

Absolutely spot on, the moment he received the ball when the team went to advanc eup the pitch and he stood on the ball for so long he had 3 players round him and then lost it for what seemed to be the 5th time.

I scoffed at the rumours McBurnie could return, after watching Moore last night I would take McBurnie in a millisecond.

Sheffield united have only scored 1 headed goal this season. Ryan One's v Bristol.
Ffs Moore is the size of a giraffe, he is shit in the air. What's the point in long throws & crosses.

I think it was a terrible deal.

I know hindsight is a marvelous thing but I and quite a few others knew what we were getting with Moore.

If we got Moore on a free and gave him a 2 year deal as a plan B then it'd just about be understandable. But paying a fee like we did and giving him a 3 year deal is bonkers.

Isidor cost a loan fee of 750k (with an option to buy) from Zenit and looks like prime Henry compared to Moore.

The 1 headed goal stat is an absolute joke, and Moore is the main culprit. He seems to have lost his ability to jump. I'm sure I remember him being a much more powerful aerial force

Moore is ineffective on his own he needs someone up top with him.
