Kieffer Moore

It was the blaming of other people for not getting the ball to his feet or for his shit passes that wound me up today. Robinson played him a shit pass and instead of tackling the player he just pointed where he wanted it with the arse on!
When he got the ball, he was slack too. Even at U13s we tell our strikers to do something dynamic once they've released - either a run, or a quick step for a return pass. Moore just stood and ambled around. A couple of his passes slowed play down due to his half hearted passing

Just not good enough.

other than the 2 goals against Cardiff contributes nothing in the second half of games. Doesn't win headers or run the channels

Giving him a 3 year contract is up there with some of the worst decisions we've made.

He's immobile now, what's he going to be like next season.

Can only pray there is a get out clause for us or someone else is daft enough to want him or we're stuck with this expensive donkey for another 2 seasons

People who slag McBurnie off and say he's no better than Moore need to give their heads a wobble. I would swap this useless lump of lard for McB in a heartbeat.

McBurnie in reality is a different striker, he was never a proper old skool target man as he struggled to trap or knock on the ball plus he didn't always win his battles as a target man. It didn't help that any header he went up for the ref would immediately give the opposition a free kick regardless. He worked as a good foil for Ndiaye when the ball was played into feet and he could link up well.

Yep I don’t think it’s a big risk to play Oné when Moore just isn’t linking up with the team. He seems more focussed on himself than the team at the moment, gone down hill since his double at Cardiff.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t think O’Hare was at it either today, so it’s not just Moore. The link up between them isn’t there currently
Mate, it's the elephant in the room. O'Hare isn't the player we seem to think he is. No one seems to be talking about it. Not sure what the alternative is, but I'm 99% sure it's not Brewster either....

I’ve also been really unimpressed by Moore and sadly he seems to be getting worse, I was at the WBA game last Sunday and can’t remember him doing anything notable whatsoever, would be interested to see the touch stats for that one & tonight’s game, just not good enough. Brewster is at least trying!

My mate is a Coventry supporter and he said O Hare flatters to deceive, that position (which Wilder likes) is arguably the most important one on the field for us

O’Hare is very good at link up, but needs fast passing players around him. He works well with JRS, Hamer, Brooks and Campbell as they can give and go, the work between him and brooks the other day was a great example of what he is. Flicks and little touches. He doesn’t stop pressing and moving.

What he’s not is a player to run with the ball and go past players, he’s got no physical strength to carry the ball. I’d also have put Brewster up top if we had a midfielders to come in, but we had to play him in behind Moore. O’Hare is another running on fumes

It's 2025 and we're playing a 1970's style No 9 and then rather than lump balls into him, we're playing intricate football around him.

Please make it make sense?!?!?!
We do this a fair amount and he either rarely wins the header and/or fails to keep hold of the ball. I really expected a lot more from him. Nothing he does is above 6 out of 10. Which is ….fine. But leaves a lot to be desired from a starting striker in a promotion-chasing side.

You forgot to add.......other than the 2 "world class" goals against Cardiff, especially the first....reminded me of Marc Van Basten regards technique.

Any striker can miss penalties...sometimes the goalie makes a great save.
However my issue was the technique.....didn't even hit manage to kick a dead ball cleanly...it's as though he's weak at taking penalties.

Also to date every penalty has been similar......been hit low to the floor at medium pace.

How about lifting the ball a little. Surely a striker can vary it, put more power on the shot or try to put them in the top corner.
The penalty tonight only needed some backlift on it and it would have been too high for the keeper to save it.

i agree mate and i think most blades do to . surely he will not be on the next team sheet .I also think Brewster was decent tonight ,not before time but just maybe he might just be turning the corner.

ive defended moore on this forum many times because ive always rated him as a target man but after tonight im not doing it anymore he was awful again tonight and needs dropping

Going over old ground on here but

  • Aerial ability up front 3/10
  • Hold up play 3/10
  • Link up play 2/10
  • Awareness of team mates positionally 3/10
  • Penalty technique 1/10
  • Aerial ability defending 7/10

I might be a tad generous here but definitely more of a Conor Sammon / Chris Porter than a Brian Deane type big man!

Having said all that though, our tactics really dont help him contribute do they?

So sluggish tonight it was unbelievable. Seems like there's a huge delay between his head and feet...its should be like superfast fibre optic, but he was more like...

It's like the lag in FIFA 97, where you pressed a button and there was a second or two delay before the command was executed. You learned to press the shoot button about 2 seconds before the ball arrived at the players feet. Maybe that's what Moore should be doing?

KIEFFER 97.

He's fucking wank an nobody no ot fucking one of you can tell me any different with

He’s only ever played over 30 games in a season three times in his 14 year career. Never really been a player that teams have rested talismanic status on or one that’s going to fire them to success, but he’s being asked to do it this year. Here’s to hoping.

Please lord let us bring another couple of strikers in during this window so he gets knocked down the pecking order.

It's clear he should just be used as a plan B.

McBurnie certainly had his negatives, but the difference between Ol and Kieffer are frightening.
